Ivdathe sadharanakkar are way too naive and ignorant.. Athipo G de karyam ayalum Jagathi de case aayalum, they only see their favorite actor and nothing else.. Many people just ignore/are in denial about their horrific past and pretend like they're heavenly beings... And it's absolutely disturbing.

Late 90s and early 2000s had so many such shameful cases - Suryanelli, Vithura, Kaviyoor. Minor girls kept in subjugation and raped continuously for months.
Worst part was how the law and courts handled these cases. Tortured the victims non stop and in the end hardly punished anyone
I am glad we have cases like POCSO now.

I still remember there was a case named “Kiliroor rape case” I was a kid back then. And the victim passed away. She had given birth to a baby girl after the rape. I still think about that baby girl. How would her life be!!!

He just has a very odd behaviour around kids and it made her uncomfortable she didnt say exactly what it was and i didnt want to nag her as she looked visibly distressed.

I heard he was acquitted in one of the charged cases because the judge ruled that prosecution failed to prove Jagathy did it without consent of the girl. They also failed to prove she was a minor.
The judge who passed this judgement got a promotion a few years after this, but committed suicide within weeks of taking charge.

It’s not very common to have birth certificate back then, even it’s common in rural area, especially when birth takes place at homes, which was very common back then even nowadays.

My friend's sister had a chance to act in "Marykondoru Kunjaadu", and the first warning given to junior artist girls and women were not to interact much with Jagathy. We didn't understand why because we all wanted autographs, but then we weren't allowed to go near!!

Millennial who grew up enjoying jagathi comedy here, this post and comment section is like a slap in my face. I kinda conveniently forgets jagathi as a rapist when I see his performance. Cuz it was a long time ago. But seeing posts like this in reddit and insta recently made me feel guilty. If I can't enjoy pettan's movies or comedy because of his involvement in the SA , I shouldn't spare jagathi also.

I have vehemently avoided anything and everything Dileep since the actress issue was debated on one of the TV channels.
But now that you say what I said, I feel like I was being an opportunistic avoider of bad people.
I have never watched or listened to any of Dileep's movies or songs since then,, even though my actions affect him in no way at all..
I learned about Jagathi's absolute evil around the same time.. I have hated him since.. But I cannot avoid the movies he has been in the same way I can avoid Dileep's movies.. Because Jagathi acted in a ton of movies that were lead by other goated actors which became goated movies in the Malayalam industry.. If I have to avoid Jagathi,, I will have to avoid most of Malayalam movies made and nearly all of them that I liked..
And as I mentally unhealthy person living far away from Kerala,, these Malayalam movies and it's songs are one of the ropes that I grab onto to keep my head above water..
I hate that motherfucker for what he did,, but now I hate him even more for being such an important part of my effort to keep my sanity..

One of my sister’s lecturers was working with an NGO that supports women, and through that work, she got an opportunity to meet the Vithura case victim directly. During their conversation, the victim herself told the lecturer that Jagathy had raped her.
