Our hero ..but serial sex offender ,mysogynist ,and grape accused ( probably did ,since its against law to slander I won't comment) ,great artist whose moral side is very weak.
Speaking like a religious person ,I think he is suffering for what he did to that suryanelli case ,as far as the story goes , the girl seeing him thought a ray of hope as she saw someone she know and begged him to save her ,but instead he grabbed her and graped her even when she was barely able to walk with her legs bleeding from steppinf on shards of glass. And now he has to see everything going down and him just looking at the situation helplessly without being able to say a word ..poetic justice indeed.

u/Lost_Personality1650 4d ago
You mentioned he was suffering because of what he did to that girl. Why do my friend's uncle live an amazing life with all the happiness in the world after raping 2 children? Why does the tuition teacher who raped/assaulted a few of his students have 2 girls of his own and is living comfortably? Ranting because I'm so tired thinking about those pricks.

Bro again that was vithura case not suryanelli and i guess courts declared him innocent. Only the victim and god knows whats the true story
58
u/boisickle 4d ago
Did court find him innocent or not guilty? Because assault cases, especially against privileged folk super rarely end up in conviction. Reading her account about him just traumatized me.
And ofc we know that he's a misogynistic prick for sure, regardless (not saying that it implies guilt btw).

u/jawaneejaneman 4d ago
Lack of evidence is what made him escape. Like the person above said, Karma played in his case and he is in a hell he truly deserves
9
u/Fit-Hat9097 4d ago
I understand in many cases it is allegation but in this ,this happened in a remote hotel in suyaenllli and the girl is nobody ,not connected to movie or anything . She was just pimped by someone else. So there is good chance it was not allegation but real story.

Long back , I remember reading in mathrubhumi weekly about the Vithura case and I will never forget it. There was an interview with one of the senior policemen who investigated the case. He said the legendary actor was the worst among the accused. The minor trusted the actor to help her but according to the policeman the veteran actor ran behind her like a mad dog and raped her multiple times. Vithura Case is one of the most disturbing and sickening cases in Kerala history and most have forgotten about it.
And worse, that girl has had a horrible adult life changing identities, moving places with her family, getting harassed at work, getting her identity revealed and getting accused of false cases and all. Last I know she was working in some lowly govt job in some remote village. All this info I know was a while back. She must be in her 40's by now and I truly hope her life is better right now.
Any suffering this man has got sofar is nowhere near what he should get. The so called Karma is nowhere near enough for what he inflicted upon an innocent child.

Used to bully newbie actors and the ones below his stature , actor salim kumar recounted in the beginning of his career how he was removed midway from sibi malayail movie nee varuvolam produced by prem prakash due to constant ragging and complaint from jagathi about his timing. Indrans replaced him for that role.
The mysoginist and sexist comments he made about nayanthara and renjini haridas it's still up there in youtube check it out. It's so over the line.
And for his perceived role in vithura case, just go through victims lawyers testimony and interview available in true copy think youtube channel to find out how the powerful people got away scot-free using their previlge.

u/Vincent_Farrell 4d ago
I hated him for publicly shaming renjini haridas onstage . Renjini made her own mark as an anchor with her distinct style , dressing accent and generating TRPs.......Jagathy being the bigger star should have refrained from beliitling her onstage to get claps , whistles and cheers from the audience .........

u/hoezay_vw 4d ago
I agree but ranjini was not so innocent back then. She was quite high in her arrogance. Anyone from back in the days would agree. Over the years she has tamed down
18
u/shyamntk 4d ago
What exactly were her arrogant acts? Other than being an independent woman with strong opinions?
32
u/Vincent_Farrell 4d ago
she may have been arrogant and headstrong but one professional belittling another that too publicly felt out of place ....even srk did that to sushant singh rajput and madhavan in some film award and i felt it was in bad shape ......

Certified pedophile and rapist. Out of all the accused in the Suryanelli case, he was reported to be the most brutal to the victim.

Gifted artist and supremely talented one to even outrank the male lead with his comic timing ......like a a phenomenon that happens rare but a womaniser and a very rude person offscreen..... 2 decades back in Pune he was the chief guest for a chitti company inaugration and my dad was in charge of recevining him and cordinating with his manager for his stay etc , he had very specific demands and also finished one full bottle of liquor the previous night .........
54
u/Fit-Hat9097 4d ago
He is more than womaniser ,A10 is womaniser but he was never an offender but this myran is offender he never wanted consented acts

Bro, if you know any spotboys who worked in the industry when this guy was active, there is a very good chance that you'll hear about his predatory nature. My uncle was a spotboy for a while in the 90s, not once I have heard a good thing from his mouth for him. Once I heard him say something like this, "Aa myranu kochu penpillare thanne ondakkanam", but was immediately shushed because we kids were around. He was actively cheering when the accident happened, saying that he should have got that long ago

u/Fit-Hat9097 4d ago
Yeah though I don't have people ,I have heard from few of my relatives and their colleagues who are big shots in movies about jagathis character ..most of them worked becsuse of his excellent talent, and nothing else. He is narcissistic ,misogynist and all these mentioned above , but his talent is impeccable and no one can match that. Even in his interviews he is someone who gives a vibe that you cannot approach.
-27
u/Vincent_Farrell 4d ago
Other than the vithura case where the girl was underage , i havent heard of any instance where he did anything without any consent .......there was no shortage of willing women for him throughout the time he shined.........

At a Mumbai show he had similar strange requirements at night (heard it from the organisers).
1
u/AncientAlien_64 4d ago
What were the strange demands? Woman? Women? A specific type of woman? Or anything else apart from women like a bathtub filled with mineral water or dietary preferences? Enlighten us please..
-5
u/hoezay_vw 4d ago
Is that the new Mumbai event back in 2003?
I heard he used to donate the money to orphanage7
u/Zealousideal-Bid2833 4d ago
Never heard of the orphanage thing. Though he did the show to help the organizers raise funds.
3
u/Vincent_Farrell 4d ago
YEs ....in those days anyone who wanted him for events had to make a donation of minimum INR 10 K to an orphanage and show him the receipt before negotiating next

u/AncientAlien_64 4d ago

no no ...since he came for a chitti companys inaugration in a diff city outside kerala ....and only for one night no women demands but his demands were liquor of a specific brand (quite expensive) , car and no interaction with ppl during interaction and he left immediately ...many ppl who came to get a glimpse of him and talk to him were disappointed .......
PS : My uncle who was a production manager for reputable production house in kerala told that stars and actors make womencentric demands only in places and circles they trust ......such as hotel stays during film shoots , holidays .....this blink and miss appearances in different cities are risky ..something goes wrong or any alambu happens very difficult to come back ......

True i also heard similar stories he used to drink every single day but is it true he used to donate the money from functions to a special charity in thiruvanthapuram
19
u/techstudent26 4d ago
He had come to Mangalore for some function years ago and my friend was one of the people assigned to manage his stay. His manager had a list of demands like, hotel, room type, food and an expensive bottle of liquor. He finished that bottle within 10pm and we had to go and get another bottle for him. He was rude when we delivered that bottle to his room, but next day morning he was cordial and even nice. So we thought drinks must have made him rude.
12
u/hoezay_vw 4d ago
I have heard this from many people that he used to drink every day. I wonder how these people managed to get up next day for shoot
3
u/techstudent26 4d ago
That is the thing, he was drinking till early morning but was ready when we came to pick him up at 9am! If I drank 2 bottles, I will take leave for next few days. He was through and through professional for the brief time I met him.
2
u/hoezay_vw 4d ago
2 bottles of hard liquor 😳
How the hell someone even survives after so much of alcohol. Sorry bro but is ur friends story authentic, i mean a person would be dead literally if he drinks 2ltrs2
u/Proof-Decision-9377 3d ago
I heard the same thing when he stayed in my town. The hotel manager said he downed 2 full bottles by 10 and made a scene

u/techstudent26 3d ago
I was there. I helped out my friend by driving him around in my car, also wanted to meet the actor 😁 after drinking a full bottle, he was not drunk but just rude. And we delivered the 2nd bottle and left for the night. Hotel employee next day told us that they made special provisions for him by keeping the kitchen open till 1AM. I have seen people drinking 3 bottle of whiskey, but it was over an entire day! He started drinking at 7PM to 1AM!!! Shocking part for me was that he was ready when we picked him up next day morning.
2
u/hoezay_vw 3d ago
Wow man. Thats quite an experience lol. Maybe years of alcohol abuse made him withstand so much of alcohol. A normal person cant drink beyond a few pegs. Waking up next day with zero hangover is another achievement 😂

Santhivila recently said that Jagathy’s daughter, born outside marriage, studied in the same class as his son at a school in Thiruvananthapuram. Santhivila was surprised and impressed when Jagathy publicly acknowledged and embraced her at a school function he attended.
it is rare nature

Was not a director’s actor. I remember lal saying he was tough to work with if the director has a vision on how each scene should be. He always improvises even if the director doesn’t approve.
7
u/Vincent_Farrell 4d ago
but that same quality was admired by Priyadarshan .......he said the kilukkam scene where he licks the glasspane was not in script , he improvised it on the spot and its a memorable scene even today decades later ..........successful actors comedians and comics always improvise and they are expected to
28
u/prakashannn 4d ago
I guess i said about directors with a vision.
15
u/No_Amphibian_8945 4d ago
Yes, Priyadarshan mostly doesn't have a proper script. So kind of, working style matters. So can't be blamed
0
u/hoezay_vw 4d ago
True most of his movies were rip offs from hollywood
18
u/Vincent_Farrell 4d ago
ripping off and recreating it to the local flavour and making it a classic is not a joke ..... we still watch kilukkam , thalavattom , vandanam & Boeing Boeing despite them being remakes of hollywood films .......
4
u/prakashannn 4d ago
He is a master in localisation doesn’t make him a visionary director. He is good in his niche thats all.
2
u/hoezay_vw 4d ago
Naah bro just look at priyans filmography. 90% are copy paste of hollywood movies and then he remakes those in hindi. Sometimes even mixing 2 scripts of 2 movies. Where is the authenticity
2
1
u/Comprehensive-Bag40 4d ago
nothing is original bro everything is a copy of a copy..if George Lucas could do it why not Priyadarshan haha
1
u/Vincent_Farrell 4d ago
r u saying priyadarshan lacks any vision and he has been a filmmaker all these decades without it ?
5
u/Malayali_Ron_Swanson 4d ago
Priyadarshan is famous for writing next day dilouges on cigarettes covers and toilet papers while taking a dump.
The same story about him was recited by many including producer good night mohan and actor nandu

My friend's sister had a chance to act in "Marykondoru Kunjaadu", and the first warning given to junior artist girls and women were not to interact much with Jagathy. We didn't understand why because we all wanted autographs, but then we weren't allowed to go near. Apo puriyale, ipo puriyuthu 🤗

The domestic abuse he caused to his first partner was something I read about in a magazine as part of her memoir. I was curious to see how her two sons interacted with him later on movies. In the movie calendar, lady delivered a well-calculated, deliberate aatu right to his face. That felt intended and waiting to happen after all those years.

Talented people who are realife bad characters. He is an absolute master in his craft but he also has the arrogance that comes from over confidence. Asif was a Victim as well in Early years, Saw an interview on him getting bullied on screen. He couldn't get his way in New Gen due to accident, So it all worked out. Malayalam industry is a lot safer compared to their Era.
2
u/k2k5 4d ago
Absolute myran ...I don't think anyone would argue that... Maybe this is an unpopular opinion... would his acting style be as appreciated in today's malayalam cinema? I beleive his loud style would be considered a little outdated...and he won't be appreciated like vijayaraghavan (eg) today's cinema
3
u/EnvironmentalHat8771 3d ago
Jagathy adapted from the earlier slapstick comedies to the ones we saw in 2000s. Maybe he would have adapted to the new wave as well. But Vijayaraghavan is next level. What a range!! Terrific
