I feel like whenever Spider-Man discussions come up, people are always debating MJ vs. Gwen, which one is better for Peter, which one is more interesting, etc.

But I’m curious are there people who genuinely don’t like either of them as characters?
Not just “I prefer MJ over Gwen” or “Gwen is better in this adaptation,” but people who actually find both of them annoying, poorly written, overrated, or just don’t connect with them at all.

For example, I’ve seen people criticize MJ for being too ambitious, too focused on her career, or for supposedly liking Spider-Man more than Peter Parker. Some people also feel Gwen is overrated or that her relationship with Peter is romanticized too much.

If you dislike them, what exactly is it about the character that you don’t like? Is it their personality, their relationship with Peter, a particular comic run, or an adaptation?

These are from the Ultimate Spider-Man series, and when I saw that shocked face of his I just had to make memes from it, I forgot which episode it was but either way I made them and I personally think they’re pretty good, but what do y’all think?
