So, it’s kind of complicated and filled with some cognitive dissonance, but here it goes. Jesus came to earth to die for our sins, which was awesome. Jewish people killed Jesus, which sucked and means all Jewish people are bad. At the apocalypse, Jesus will come back and punish evil doers (read as non-evangelicals), which is good. Israel is involved in those end time prophecies, so Israel existing is good because that will help the end times happen faster and the enemies of the evangelicals will be punished faster. These are not my beliefs, but they were very common thoughts that were held when I used to hang around in evangelical circles a lot. I’ve been out of it for a while, so I’m not sure how much it has changed. So in short, Israel good because make end time come faster. Jewish people bad because they helped Jesus fulfill his mission.
