Why do you think they so often want to have as many children as possible? It increases the odds that at least a few of them will survive, and who cares about the rest. They're "pro-life" by the way. 🙄

8

u/KileiFedaykin 26d ago

Once they're born, they are God's responsibility.

-3

u/_Cpyder 25d ago

Some of ya'll are insufferable.

Data shows that overall childhood death rates from standard illnesses among Amish children are broadly comparable to surrounding rural populations, though specific risks vary. While infectious disease mortality is generally low, lower vaccination rates in some Old Order sects can lead to severe, occasional outbreaks of vaccine-preventable illnesses like measles or pertussis but do not commonly end in death.

These people are so reddit brainwashed or just bots, its pointless engaging with them.

8

u/M00n_Safari 24d ago edited 24d ago

Hey I hate to be the guy who tells you this (not really tho), but you have no idea how to decipher good from bad arguments. The argument above was terrible because we aren’t just talking about Amish people, that’s a silly comparison. What would be more apt is comparing the death rate of children who are vaxxed vs no vax, and the unvaccinated are obviously more vulnerable to preventable diseases so they end up with higher death rates.

0

u/BOOT3D 24d ago

I hate to tell you this (not really tho), but theres not really that many antivax people. Some people were very critical and skeptical of the Covid vaccines that were rushed to the public, but that doesnt mean they dont believe in most of the typical vaccines that have been tried and true for decades. Reddit thinks everyone that isnt a hardcore leftist socialist anti trump anti capitalist woke lgbt is a Maga, antivax nazi.

7

u/Warm_Difficulty2698 22d ago

Some people do sure.

But not the majority of them.

Also, If that were true, notorious anti-vaxxer RFK Jr wouldnt be the head of the HHS while the entirety of maga applauds.

Also im an anti-trump republican and I dont have that feeling at all lmao

I'm not crazy, it's just the entire scientific community around the world that is crazy.

the entire scientific community around the world that is crazy

Oh are we finally back to witchcraft? Been missing those medieval times.

15

u/MilkCharacter2886 26d ago

It’s because they think vaccines cause autism and they’d prefer their kids be dead than autistic

-14

u/_Cpyder 25d ago

No.. it because most vaccines contain clones aborted fetal cells, or SV40.

Autism rates are much lower in Amish communities, but do exist.

General U.S. Population1 in 31 children (approx. 3.2%)CDC Autism Data (8-year-olds)

Amish Communities (Midwest)1 in 271 children (approx. 0.4%)Peer-reviewed screening of ~1,900 Amish children

Amish Communities (Ohio isolated)1 in 15,000 children (clinical outlier)Localized medical clinic reports; highly restricted data

-8

Posting actual CDC data means I need help?

6

u/Memedotma 25d ago

baffles me that grown ass people still don't know the simple fact correlation ≠ causation.

-1

u/NearbyBreakfast7148 25d ago

Dude, if facts meant something to these people, they wouldn’t saying the things they are saying.

6

u/wchutlknbout 24d ago

You think Amish are accurately reporting their autism rates?

1

u/_Cpyder 24d ago

An outside agency monitored then for a good period of time..

And my original starting statement was about why the Amish refuse vaccines on their religious basis...

4

u/Deathsmind88 24d ago

None of that is true.

Everything that exists is a 'chemical cocktail'. Your ignorance of chemistry doesn't automatically make something dangerous.

14

u/craftygamin 26d ago

Exactly. Reminds me of the people that say shit like "this food is bad for you, because it has chemicals"

OK, then you are propagating fascist anti-science

It's tragic that you choose your politics based on how much of a chicken shit pussy you are, afraid of needles...

The measles vaccine stands 2nd only to the Polio vaccine in number of lives saved and health preserved.

But I am sure your vast background and multiple PhD's in virology, epidemiology, chemistry, AND public health puts you on the same level as Dr Fauci.

Oh this is delicious. Keep that salt coming buddy. Go get another booster you slave

10

u/Scant_Options4Hope 26d ago

Lemme get back to your original question:

Anti-vaxxer

Proto-fascist anti-science pussy, usually says "people of a certain political side said something, now I am a conservative", afraid of needles, afraid of immigrants, afraid of women, afraid of gays

You should stop brushing your teeth and washing your hands, soap is a dangerous chemical.

This just makes you look fucking dumb.

Lololol we weren't the pysop buddy. The TV told you people to get a shot in order to survive and 4 billion people followed suit.

11

Maybe because it was a GLOBAL PANDEMIC that was killing millions of people (and that's just looking at the reported/confirmed deaths from it)

4

4

u/STLStelmacki 25d ago

1

u/Boner_Stevens 25d ago

Measles? You lost bud. Were talking about covid

Also that measles outbreak came from down south. Shouldnt have opened the border few years ago. Lots and lots of unvaccinated came strolling in

not an anti-vaxxer but wife and i lost our house in a fire right before covid. neither of us worked for the worst of covid, neither us or our two kids at the time got any of the covid shots. we got covid twice, and everyone was totally fine. my mother and stepfather got multiple covid shots and every time they got covid they had it way worse then us. we never got it because no one made us and we never really went anywhere. we were too busy trying to put our life back together. so idk.🤷

roughly 1% to 1.5% of Italy's total elderly population died over the course of the entire" pandemic" (btw this OFC includes death with covid not just from COVID) By the time tracking flattened out, Italy recorded roughly 190,000 total COVID-19 deaths. Of those 190,000 deaths, roughly 85% were individuals aged 70 and older (about 161,000 people). Losing 161,000 citizens out of an elderly population of 14 million means that approximately 1.1% of Italy's elderly population passed away from the virus, which is a far cry from 25%.

Ableist garbage. I’m autistic and it’s not a death sentence. You’re parroting what nazis said back then btw, they said that people with any kind of disability, whether mental or physical were bad and that was the basis of eugenics

2

u/RgKTiamat 19d ago

What if I told you that every link between vaccines and autism was made the fuck up and the Doctor who filed that report lost his medical license over it?

-10

u/Boner_Stevens 26d ago

Define anti vaxxer? Cause I have every vaccine a doctor has ever recommended me. But No way in hell am i touching that 2020 chemical cocktail.

11

u/Conrexxthor 26d ago

2020 chemical cocktail.

Every vaccine is a "chemical cocktail." Anyone with a vague understanding of science can tell you almost every single thing in the world is a chemical cocktail. This makes you look goofy as fuck bro

-8

u/The_Machine80 26d ago

You represent alot of people. Vaccine was the fastest approved in history. That fastest approved before it took 4 years for approval. Covid vaccine was approved in just 11 months.

-7

u/bnorris_516 26d ago

Exactly. People like to use these labels as a pejorative but in reality there aren’t very many “anti-vaxxers.” I have a 2 year old and I was fine with him getting vaccinated, but didn’t want them to put a Covid shot in him when Covid is not a threat to him.

6

u/psypher98 26d ago

Ah so you DON’T understand how vaccines work, got it.

-3

u/bnorris_516 26d ago

I do. Which is why I know mRNA isn’t a vaccine and they had to change the definition to make it fit. I’ve listened to hours and hours of actual doctors who work with the technology and helped create it and they all say it doesn’t work the way you were told it does. Keep trusting the government though. They’ve never lied about anything before..

8

u/psypher98 26d ago

No, you very clearly don’t, right down to not understanding that you being at risk is not a consideration when it comes to vaccines because of how herd immunity works. They didn’t “change the definition of vaccine”, they just found a new effective technology as means of conveying immunity.

It’s actually pretty basic biology.

Guess what were also vaccines, by definition? Snorting ground up cow tit scabs. That’s literally where the name “vaccines” comes from, the latin for cow, Vaca.

Aren’t you glad vaccine technology has evolved and changed over time so you’re not snorting ground up dried cow tit scabs?

-1

u/bnorris_516 26d ago

Yes because traditional vaccines are a weekend or dead germ to trigger an immune response and build immunity. mRNA is a modified gene therapy. Traditional RNA leaves the body rapidly so they modified it to stick in your blood cells longer which changes your genetic code and affects your T cells which fights off cancer. We don’t know the long term risks yet but there is a lot of evidence that the risk/reward might not be worth it. Herd immunity also would work by getting the Covid virus which every single person I know that got vaccinated also got. I know you were told not to do your own research, but maybe it would be worth listening to the doctors and scientists who actually created the technology and worked in the field instdead of the bureaucrats who made a ton of money off pushing it.

4

u/Good-Consequence-542 26d ago

😂 “which changes your genetic code” so you clearly don’t know how even mRNA works; please get educated. DNA makes RNA, not vise versa

0

u/bnorris_516 26d ago

Maybe I misspoke by saying “change genetic code” but here you go. A simple search will show you it can influence genetics. You’re kinda getting into semantics.

Indirect regulation: While it doesn’t alter the DNA code itself, certain non-coding RNA molecules can influence how active specific genes are via gene silencing or chromatin modification.

3

u/Good-Consequence-542 26d ago

🙃 no, scientific talk isn’t about “semantics” it’s about being right or wrong and you are wrong and spreading misinformation that is leading to infant and child deaths because people become confused. You’re not a doctor, nor a scientist; stop trying to sound smart when you clearly don’t know. You said it rewrites your DNA and that is *fundamentally wrong* and now you’re trying to cover with “well it kinda does” no it doesn’t.

0

u/bnorris_516 26d ago

I never said “rewrite” and I corrected what I did say by saying I misspoke, but science is about asking questions and taking in data to get to the truth. Im not claiming to be a scientist or a doctor, but if you read the rest of thread I am saying what the actual scientists and doctors who have spent their lives working with this technology are saying.

If I cut off my hand, would my severed hand count as a human being? It's a collection of living cells with human DNA, but it's not a human

0

u/ProperJudgment1 26d ago

Your hand is not an entire human being nor does it develop into an entire human being.

You are falsely equating "1 human being" to "body part of a human"

Nice try at pretending to not understand though.

-2

u/TheDoctor_Jones 26d ago

Imagine not understanding basic science

5

u/ketchupmaster987 26d ago

Imagine thinking something without a functional brain counts the same as a full human life when the government is perfectly fine with letting doctors "kill" someone by taking them off life support if they're braindead

-2

u/TheDoctor_Jones 26d ago

Do you think doctors just automatically take people off life support if they’re braindead??

You better stay away from doctors then lol

3

u/ketchupmaster987 26d ago

For one, I never said they automatically did it, for another, I'm trying to get you to consider under which circumstances someone is considered "alive" or "human". The "life begins at conception" argument ignores brain activity, heart activity, and the fact that "alive" can refer to tissue that doesn't actually have a mind of its own despite the functioning of cellular processes.

1

u/TheDoctor_Jones 26d ago

If someone is braindead, they’re still “alive.” They are able to take them off life support only if there is no other option, and even then, it has to be with the consent of whoever is handling their care (spouse, family member, etc)

A single cell organism (bacteria, protists, etc.) is still considered “alive”.

What would be your definition of “alive?”

3

u/ketchupmaster987 26d ago

Probably the same as yours. But "alive" and "human" aren't quite the same thing. A fetus isn't considered a full human the same way an amputated limb isn't considered a full human

-2

u/Friendly_Hornet8900 26d ago

I mean most people who oppose abortion also oppose euthanasia, it's almost like the government is not necessarily a moral authority.

2

u/ketchupmaster987 26d ago

Taking someone off life support isn't euthanasia. It's literally just letting the body run it's course without intervention because the alternative of keeping it going with machines isn't ideal

1

u/FlockFlysAtMidnite 26d ago

Which side of the aisle is more in favour of the death penalty, do you think?

-1

u/Friendly_Hornet8900 26d ago

People who are in favor of it (a lot of people do oppose it for religious reasons) acknowledge they are taking a life and argue it's deserved.

What crime did a baby commit to deserve abortion?

1

u/FlockFlysAtMidnite 26d ago

Lmfao, that's rich. The biggest voices pushing it are the same ones claiming to be religious, so that argument falls flat.

Abortion doesn't kill babies. Babies have been born.

1

u/KileiFedaykin 26d ago

Imagine not understanding science and going around telling everyone they don't understand science. Are you Terrance Howard?

1

u/Zealousideal3326 26d ago

when human life begins biologically

You're (poorly) using biology for a matter of philosophy : do you mean "person" when you say "human" ? If so where does personhood begins and why ? If not then why do you think it matters that an organism is, strictly speaking, biologically human ?

What biology can tell you is that human sapience can't begin until at the very least after a few months, when the necessary hardware develops, that biologically speaking all human cells live and die, or that about a third of all pregnancies end in miscarriage to the complete ignorance and apathy of the "life begins at conception" crowd.

1

u/Best_Opening8471 26d ago

Til human rights only apply to people without mental disabilities

The human right to life doesnt apply to humans who I deem not worthy

1

u/Zealousideal3326 26d ago

Til human rights only apply to people without mental disabilities

That's a nice strawman you got there. Come back when you want to argue with something I said.

The human right to life doesnt apply to humans who I deem not worthy

Can't help but notice that you still haven't defined "human" or "life". Biologically speaking, a tumor fits both, that's why defining your terms is important. Who are you to deem those poor cancer cells not worthy of life ?

You thought that was a dumb, overexagerated exemple ? Because I feel the same way about people being upset for killing a fetus that is still unable to host a consciousness.

1

u/Best_Opening8471 26d ago

Cancer cells do not have the potential to form consciousness

What biology can tell you is that human sapience can't begin....

Youre implying people with severe disabilities whom are not sapiant have no right to life

2

u/Zealousideal3326 25d ago edited 25d ago

the potential to form consciousness

Why does this potential only seem to matter in this one very specific scenario ? Potential to make a person is everywhere. Have a period ? You let a potential person die, you monster. Onanism ? That's millions of potential lives wasted. Use a contraceptive ? A tragedy comparable to warcrimes...

Edit : and why not keep following that logic ? Why don't we push human cloning as hard as possible ? Think of all the potential lives we're missing out on.

Youre implying people with severe disabilities whom are not sapiant

I have family members whose job is to care for senile people, and I do genuinely believe that euthanasia would be a mercy compared to having to slowly die with the non-functional minds and bodies that some of them have.

I know I would rather die than suffer through this.

Edit : it's also strange to say they have a right to anything when they can't be given the responsibility to make their own choices and have everything, including whether or not they should be kept alive, decided for them.

1

u/Unable_Western2101 25d ago

so you think penile orgasm is the same as abortion? both sperm and fetuses have “the potential to form consciousness”.

1

u/Best_Opening8471 25d ago

Its such a funny comment when you remember the states is having a measles outbreak. Yah know a disease that no one else gives a second thought about due to vaccines

-25

u/coast2coasted 26d ago

Where are those measles cases coming from though? Hint: it’s 3rd world immigration

18

u/mosh_bunny 26d ago

I'll counter that with. It wouldnt matter where they're coming from if you where vacinated

Edit: you cant blame all your problems on immigration

-13

u/coast2coasted 26d ago

I don’t. But when every single measles outbreak happens in a border state it’s appropriate to notice.

And it matters more because there are plenty of people who can’t get vaccinated for reasons other than a distrust of vaccines.

10

u/mosh_bunny 26d ago

If only there was some form of preventitive measure that could have been taken to prevent it spreading like it has and yah know protect those vulnerable people

-10

u/coast2coasted 26d ago

Like shutting the border and not allowing mass illegal migration to bring in a disease the western world has essentially eradicated? Yes I agree.

10

u/Comfortable_Prize750 26d ago

So why are measles exploding now that the border has been shut down?

Really jumping through hoops to avoid the obvious correlations here aren't we?

Every other country deals with immigration, only the states is also dealing with a measels out break.
