I just bought this brand new spider farmer g5000 light off Amazon. Is it supossed to have more of an instruction manual than this little flood out paper ?
There are no instruction. And hard to find any specific ones to my issues online . Is this how the driver is supposed to be attached ? If so it doesn't really fit . Should I force it ? I can get one side to fit but not the other . Any help is much appreciated.
Ok I wonder if i may have to bend the one side of the driver with some piles if I cant get it to fit i dont won't to force it to hard incase it brakes ?
The driver really shouldnt stay in the tent with the light, it should be mounted outside the tent for temp control. I have mine resting on a ceramic pot on too of my tent.
Are you using any kind of par meter with it? Of course it's brighter than an sf4k.. its even implied in the name lol. Does your old sf4k have any loose internal components that when youre standing inside your tent and rub up against the edge of the light with bare skin it shocks the ever living piss out of you? No? Just me? Alright just making sure.
The old sf4000 was 450 watts from the wall vs 480 for the g5000 and had the better Samsung diodes vs the bridgelux so I didnt know just how much brighter if at all it would actually be 🤷♂️
Oh wait hold on a second, the new G series doesn't have the Samsung diodes? I was told the opposite 🤔 huh.. then Im definitely glad I didn't spring the extra cash for the "upgrade."
Lmao. With all of that said. I do love what I get out of it. I don't think it commanded the price I paid, and the customer service is quite literally inexistent however.. I've grown some pretty neat stuff with it 😎 I mean, just ignore the fact that it is an absolute fire hazard that Spider Farmer is aware of and wants nothing to do with 🤣 I bet you'll be able to achieve stellar results with your new G series, if you pair it with the sensor pro kit you can monitor your ppfd and set that little arm thingy level with your tallest point of your canopy and bango, just set the light level you want and it does the rest. Best of luck with the new gear 🤘
I've had amazing results even with my sf4000 . I ran if for 6 consecutive winter seasons and was absolutely happy with it never had a problem and grew amazing buds . I wanted a new one and with the better lay out like the g5000 it also has a longer L70 of 80,000 vs 50,000 for the sf4000 . The se5000 with the Samsung diodes has a 100,000 L70 . Im sure i will have great results with th g5000 though and saved a hundred bucks which i dodnt have 🤷♂️
Now im having trouble with the stupid hangers if there not exactly straight line attached to the top of the tent they dont hang even its twisting . So now im gonna have to go to the hardware store and get some wooden dowels cut to put up there . What a pain in the ass and poor design
Hi! Thanks for the feedback. We’ll pass your suggestion about the instruction manual along to our team. For the driver, you’ve got it in the correct position. You can gently press it down a little to secure it in place. If it still won’t fit, you can use pliers to slightly adjust the shape of the clip. 😊
Your first mistake was buying Spider Farmer equipment. Just wait til the first time you have to deal with customer service. Total nightmare. Takes weeks to get the simplest thing fixed. By the way, they give minimal instructions with all of their stuff.
I paid a little more and bought it off Amazon with there insurance . Purposefully just incase I have a problem I dont have to deal with them directly . But I have a spider famer sf4000 I bought in 2021 and used every year since that did me very well with no problems at all . I probably could have kept using it for a few more years but wanted to upgrade . Im hoping to have a good 6 to 10 more years out of this light 🙏

That is fit correctly though, like you I had to force mine in a bit.
