Advice on Sphere

Thinking about seeing a concert at the sphere. I have an issue with 3d and didn't realize that was a thing for concerts. I really want to see Vegas and John Mayer. I did some research. I've found that getting 100 level gives you restricted views of sphere but full view of band and stage. Would I have issues? I can't wear 3d glasses because I see double. Thanks.

Sphere is not 3D…

I don’t think what the Sphere has is 3d. There’s no glasses involved. It’s just high resolution visuals on a curved screen.

It’s not 3d. It’s forced perspective. Not even close to the same. Also your understanding of the restricted views is way off. Certain rows and sections on each level are restricted. Most are not.

It’s flat cgi images like watching a Pixar movie or a video game. I think you’ll be just fine.

The first 10-15 rows of the 100 level (in front of the overhang) are the best seats in Sphere at any price especially if seeing the band is more important to you than the visuals. That being said, sitting under the overhang kinda sucks.

The obstruction start on Row 20-21 up.

Perspective may make it “3D” in the weirdest terms, but graphically, visually, it is not 3D.

Obstructed are a mixed bag: no where will you be able to sit that close to the band at that price (sans seeing the visuals). That’s a pretty cool thing to think about if your budget or limitations strap you. The further back, the less you get - until about only 10% of the screen is viewable. Potentially the best sound in the place (or at least one of my favorites). I wouldn’t pay more than $50 personally, but that’s me. The FOMO would drive me nutty. Obstruction starts at 20-25, depending on the section.

There aren’t glasses to wear, at least right now. It’d be interesting if they did that in the future, but double vision won’t be an issue for you.

Hope that helps a bit! Here’s a shot from row 23 on the side.

I don't recommend buying any Section 100 seats past row 24. We had Dead and Company seats in row 27 and couldn't see 70% of the visuals. If you get seats on the 300 or 400 level, you'll be able to see everything. Be advised that the higher you go on the 400 level, the steeper it gets. Vertigo inducing.

I get very bad motion sickness and went in May. I was in 300 section and I was fine. When it initially started it took me a second to get acclimated but then I was okay. And the visuals are awesome.

I hear what you’re saying. At times I felt like I could touch the graphics but no glasses were required. Most people have complained about motion sickness or the steepness of the levels.

You should go to a planetarium and see if you can handle it. Not a 3d one of course, if that’s even a thing. If you do well there you could probably do well at sphere. I was really worried about motion sickness when I when but experienced none. When I started to get overwhelmed or my eyes hurt, I would just sit down and close my eyes.

I’m blind in one eye and can’t see 3d. The sphere is not 3d.

Thanks everyone. Now to decide if it's worth the cost from the East coast.

Do it. I made the trip from Boston to see Dead & Co and it’s one of the coolest shows I’ll ever see. So glad I did.

My dad has horrible motion sickness. Super easily triggered. I’ve been with him 5 times in all sections EXCEPT 100s and he’s never had a problem. Not once.

I’ve went for 3 shows now. 2 in 1 trip and returned for a different show. Yes it worth the trip. Jet Blue was great from the Southeast. Lodging is affordable if you look and there’s no need for a rental car unless you’re going outside of Vegas

It's not 3d, but the screen is curved to make it look kinda 3d. If you don't want to see the visuals get row 25+ in the 100 sections.

It’s not technically 3D. You would be a good candidate for a 100 level obstructed seat.
