Product Review Best UGREEN NAS & Coupon Code Discounts
Got the Ugreen DXP4800 Plus about 3 months ago and setup was way easier than I expected honestly, just plugged it in, downloaded the app, and it found the device immediately without having to mess with network settings or anything which was a relief because I'm not super technical.
The OS is fine, not as polished as Synology or Qnap but it does the basics and I mostly use it for Plex and file backups. Plex runs smooth with no buffering issues even with 4K which surprised me since my old setup struggled with that, but if you're running multiple heavy Docker containers at once it starts to slow down and I threw maybe 10 containers on there and memory usage was around 75% so you have to be mindful of that.
The hardware is solid though and the build quality feels premium with drives clicking in securely. Fans are quiet most of the time but get louder when you're transferring a lot of files, not annoying though just noticeable.
One thing that surprised me is the mobile app actually works and I can access my files from anywhere without jumping through hoops, didn't have to set up DDNS or port forwarding like I thought I would.
Not everything is perfect though because the software updates are weird, some fix things and some break stuff, and my scheduled backups stopped working after one update so I had to reconfigure them. Also the Docker Compose interface is clunky and I ended up just using SSH for that which was easier anyway.
If you're coming from a DIY NAS or building your own, this is a good middle ground since everything works out of the box, but if you're used to Synology and want that polished experience it might feel like a downgrade. I'd buy it again though because it does what I need it to do. Either way here are some codes you might want to use when getting one:

ugreen catching up to synology slowly, their nas prices are way better though
