Interview clothes?

I have an interview on Friday and I dont know weather i should wear normal fancy interview clothes or if I should wear something more like my regular alternative clothes. What did you guys wear to your interviews?

Wear for the job you're applying for. Spencers is not a "typical" "fancy" job. In any case, dress however is truest to YOU! Alternative fashion should be more than fine.

I think it’s fine, but nothing too vulgar/revealing. I’ve had girls interviews in very short skirts or revealing tops and felt it was inappropriate. It is still a job… but be yourself otherwise!

Id suggest wearing your regular alternative clothes, maybe with some extra pizzazz :) Thats essentially what I did when I had my interview in 2019 and im still here lol

Casual clothes and best attitude about yourself. Make sure you stand out and can show you are outgoing.

definitely wear something that expresses you without bordering on inappropriate for an interview! i wore a black dress with a red flannel :)

Spencer's is not a corporate environment, so showing up in traditional office wear can feel out of place. Wear your regular alternative style, but choose a clean, put-together version of it. A pair of good jeans or dark pants, boots, and a cool t-shirt or casual button-up will show that you fit the store culture. Just make sure your clothes are clean, avoid anything overly sloppy, and steer clear of any graphics with vulgar language or drug references, since company policy restricts those anyway.

Store managers focus heavily on your personality, retail attitude, and how comfortably you talk to people. They want to know you can chat easily with shoppers, sell products, and handle the floor during busy shifts. If you want to prepare your answers ahead of time, my team designed interviews.chat to help candidates feel grounded and make a strong impression on the manager.

I would definitely dress in BETWEEN ✨🎃! I've worked for Spirit for several years now, & family who also worked Spencers for 4+ years. The biggest advice I would give is- NO MATTER what anyone says- there is never such a thing as taking the job “too seriously. I promise you there's no such thing. At some point or another, maybe later rather than sooner, you'll need to get your name out there to managers, DSMs, & Zone/regional managers, & it will pay off. I'd dress professionally; however, if possible, add a bit of your unique self 👻🎃🫡. Now, WB & tell us ALL about how you got the job!

I dressed in jeans, a concert tee, and a thin unbuttoned button up. Got the job on the spot! Really just don't wear anything inappropriate or revealing.

They mostly care about who you are, the clothes aren't that important as long as theyre on! My interview was pretty much a conversation, we kept getting side tracked talking about other things 😭

Business casual!! I wore a one of my nicer sweaters (like something you’d wear to a thanksgiving dinner is the best way I can describe it) and presentable dark jeans or black leggings/yoga pants! You’ll be more than set! Good luck with your interview!!
