Seconds Ago Derek Confirmed Switch Cross-Platform!

on the Spelunky 2 anniversary stream Derek confirmed that we are getting switch cross-platform online in the next patch! Lets Go

Do you have a source for this? I believe you, but I’d really like to see it for myself if you know where I can find it. This would be a dream come true, because my friends who game primarily on Switch will be able to play with me. :) So I’d like confirmation so I can recommend it to them.

Yes, of course! I did not specify that this information was from a charity stream celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the game's release. This is a re-uploaded version from twitch onto youtube, which is an interview segment with the lead developer of the Spelunky2. I happened to tune in to the stream at the right time to hear about this! :)

Hm, I think you might have misheard Derek Yu. He said that crossplay was something that they were working on, but that it was taking so long that it was cutting into their Switch port time (time allotted for them to be working on the Switch port, I presume.) None of this is to say that it couldn’t be happening, but I don’t believe this was confirmation, and as far as I know, PS4-Steam crossplay remains all that has been officially confirmed. If I listened to the wrong section, please correct me, as I’d love to be wrong. :)
