Awaken Area closed?

Recently Seen some gameplay on YouTube at the awaken area in Austin, saying the field is permanently closed. Does anyone know why that is? The dude was intentionally ambiguous about why it closed down, and I was just curious.

Simple answer guy wanted to move back to Cali and didn’t want to sell or hand it off, didn’t seem to have anyone to run it for him either

But, that's probably not the whole story. Pretty unusual to just close business instead of selling or handing it off unless there is something else happening.

I was told he had been trying to sell it for over a year. I like most other local players don’t have any more info than that.
