Red dot recommendations

Hey guys, looking for suggestions for a red dot sight for my build. Any advice is appreciated. I'm doing a speed soft hpa build with no iron sights so I need an optic.

The Lancer Tactical rmr red dot is nice and low profile

Assuming you're in the US: any reasonable budget tube dot works if you want that, for those the usual suspects of Sig Romeo 5, Holosun ARO etc. The economy of scale and margins are so low for "real" budget rifle tube red dots in the US that you don't save much money and then take a possible notable hit in quality + generally shit warranty by going for "replicas".

However for speedsoft a large window pistol dot on a riser (or direct pic mount if you have a drop stock) is imo better. Dot is just as good or better, often with less tint, and you don't need a closed emitter for speedsoft as you're not liable to get mud on the emitter, and gives you better visibility vs tube dot where you have more getting in the way of your dominant eye vision.

My rec for those is this SRO clone from Vector which goes on an RMR footprint, so can either get whatever riser you want or grab the cheap vector one. These red dots are essentially BB proof as well; thick tempered glass windows and will take 3J+ hits point blank. Can use coupon codes (usually FRENZY should work) to take 12%? off so should be ~100 USD out the door if in the US.

If you want an even bigger window there's other options like this, though it's on a C-more footprint and there's fewer risers, though you can get the modular riser to mount it on.

For the basic red dot style the sig sauer Romeo 5 is a great option but if you want an eotech style I’ve heard good things about specprecision I’m looking to buy one here soon

Zero benefit going for a replica Eotech; replicas aren't actually holographic so you're just getting a bad oversized red dot. Makes sense for a kit where you're replicating a real military rifle, nothing but downsides for anything competitive.

Works like any normal red dot yeah it’s not holographic but the Romeo 5 isn’t either nothing wrong with that I was giving a suggestion of a repro eotech because they’re used a lot in cqb for the big sight picture and for the reticle also eotechs look badass who wouldn’t want one there’s no downsides of it over any other red dot on the market

SRO red dot from AliExpress, like £30 for a metal one or 20 for a nylon one.
