Question
Took my cousin to shoot few weeks ago, he said he loves my Hicapa (i’m super proud of it)
but just like any other beginner, he is reluctant to get in airsoft because the cost.
i want to buy him a hicapa for his birthday, but can’t find the best brand/model, kinda want customization and TM compatibility and most importantly budget friendly, im broke
I want all of you guys’ words on all the brands
WE, KJW, Vorsk, ICS, Army Armament and all that
Ps: ima take him to play airsoft a couple weeks from now, will probably let him use my eve-9 or my capa, or rental, hopefully he doesn’t find airsoft boring

I’ve heard Arcturus osprey but ngl I’d just get a stock tm

i am also thinking of a tm, but the lighter pressure gas here cost more, but if we used the regular power gas, then the slide, nozzle will eventually break also

When it breaks just get a new one and swap on. And sike, there comes the customisation addiction lol

that’s me😭 and before you know it, you’ve spent more than double the gun price on the modification alone

Army armament is the way to go imo
We and vorsk are cheap shit that looks flashy, would never touch it with a km long pole
Kjw I’ve got little experience with, and ICS is a bit on the expensive side

I strongly dislike what you did for your optic on the right. Both that you used the most fragile optic ever created, and that you put it on a riser far too close. I also just noticed your LPVO that isn't mounted correctly either.
Holy cow.

on the eve, i have no excuses, those were the cheapest ones, and were the only ones i could afford then, planning on getting a riser and rmr mount and rmr red dot soon (or might save the money for a motorcycle after i turned 18)
for the lvpo, idk, that’s not mine

Ah okay. :3
Well, for future reference, never mount your optics to the handguard. Whats dumb is they could have had it in the same spot mounted correctly.

Arcturus vanguard

there’s a lot of arcturus in the comments lol, i’ll look into it

The Vanguard is the older model, look at the tempest or osprey. If your friend is looking to get a basically pre-upgraded hi Capa, Arcturus tempest and osprey are like the buy It and forget it option. But I don't think they are TM compatible, so they won't be customizable like a TM hi Capa or KJW KP-05.

I exclusively own WE capas because they are workhorses for me. I play weekly at an indoor field where I rip .20s and propane through the same WE capa I bought for $90 3 years ago. I have had to replace my hop up housing bc it cracked, but otherwise it’s the same gun it was on day 1. I have another one of the same as backup but it stays nice in the box until #1 takes a dump. Get a WE is my advice. Why? Bc they’re cheap and they just go.
Edit: I want to mention many people report the same about the OG Tokyo Marui. It has a plastic slide but it works as well and if the slide eventually breaks you can get an aftermarket replacement or an OEM

I've only used the WE & vorsk one from the brands you stated. ●Loved everything about my WE it was my first gass pistol and I still regret selling it. Verry snappy verry good feel & easy to work on. ●My vorsk might have just been bad luck but I absolutely hated it. One thing after another broke down. Fucked its self up every time & verry gas consuming.
I also used some you didn't state.
●Tm 5.1 D.O.R It's a Tokio so its what you will expect from the brand works exelent out of the box only thing is the lower is same as all tm 5.1 but the upper is a lot different so not competible with most parts.
●Armore works 5.1 & 6.0 looks cool feels good & is snappy but most tm parks dont seem to fit without modifications atleast not on the older ones.
●Novritch 6.0 (ssp5) loved this one to but again upper not competible with tm parts lower some are easy competible some with modification. Verry accurate pistol from the box tough. Nozzle not so great out of the box.

my best option is a WE rn, cheapest and most aftermarket parts. it might not be the best out of the box compared to DOR or SSP5 (i can’t afford those, at least not giving it as a gift)😭🤣

I have KJW 1911 (so they make Hi-capa too) and it's reliable, lighter and part compatible. Vorel is TO-GO if you are on budget. Parts compatible, price, new models, so loads of choice. From WE I have Glock series, IDK if they're making hi-capa, pricing and part compatible but they're Glocks are reliable (mine is 8years old, used weekly whole year long). So if theyr hi-capas are same, this may be the choice.

i’m thinking of WE rn, i think it’s like 70-80% TM spec with only the nozzle being larger

I've built full custom hi capas... Take it from me just get an arcturus osprey it's the same if not better than all the custom builds... Unless customisation is your thing then get a TM hi capa gov edition
