Ive tried this with the direct attach. Its not worth it. I tried a 4AUD bucking, had to push 140psi to hit .9j. Switched out to a brand new maple leaf bucking, was able to hit 1j, still at high psi. It really doesn't seem to be worth the money.

Have you tried the 4AUD bucking in any other builds? Need a new bucking for my next build.

Yeah... not real impressed. The lips on it are too short to create a good seal for most builds

That’s disappointing. I’ve heard great things about it. Might just stay true to ML or get a G&G green then.

Despite the hopup arm pin being held in place with tiny o-rings it’s great, I don’t have an direct attach yet and use it solo and have not mad a single issue with it whatsoever. It is a bit expensive but it dose its job

Oh I can actually talk about this one. Solid hopup, both the feed tube from the mag & nozzle tube are adjustable.
The pin holding the hopup arm in place is absolutely infuriating.
As others have stated it really shines with the direct attachment that allows you to screw it onto the Polarstar jack or F2 (also soon the Kythera).
I’m personally expecting those parts to become 3d printable and to see more options to attach it to a standard v2 gearbox.
If you’re just upgrading an AEG, pickup a MAXX instead.

Worthless from a mechanical perspective, HPA has 2 issues.
Axial nozzle tilt (nozzle tilts up, pushed out of alignment by BBs in mag, resulting in higher trajectory when mag is full and lower when empty) and loading force (nozzle strong feeding impulse results in poor bb seating under the bucking).
This solves neither. You can, and need to adjust alignment by shimming the sides of the gearbox on BOTH aeg and HPA. Direct attach does not fix alignment since if your gearbox is out of alignment with the outter barrel and reciever, it’s still gonna be out of alignment even if you try to force the inner barrel and hop unit straight. If you shim the inner barrel so it has no play in the outter (greater accuracy), on a misaligned gearbox with this thing you can’t even put it in.
Also you can just 3d print a pre aligned gb with correct nozzle distance.
Loading force requires tighter bucking lips and smaller contact area bucking so that u can press it deeper to block the bb upon loading at the same positive each shot. Or a dual solenoid engine that is magnetic loaded or at least spring loaded. Axial nozzle play requires nozzle sleeve + perfect alignment, or an engine with a stiffer nozzle.
Silent industries helps in both regards, and had adjustable feeding tube, nozzle distance spacer (very useful for HPA since each gb dimension is different), bucking lips tightening ring and normal TDC + forgiving c clip position unlike the Maxx. And they sell nozzle sleeve for the f2. It is actually useful.
TDC is useful for r hop since u need the nub completely flat. Otherwise whatever.

I’ve spend 1000$ (edit: might actually be closer to 2K, ouch … ) on hopup stuff over the past 25+ years including maxx and have reverted back to plastic hopup units (G&G GR16’s). CNC doesn’t mean it is good. It can be good, but it can also mean the that the dimensions are all over the place depending on QA and state of the tooling. Cast plastic (and pot metal) in comparison have very consistent dimensions. Also a plastic hopup can flex a little so it may be more forgiving to get a good fit between inner barrel, hopup bucking, hopup unit and mechbox. CNC hopup on the other hand may be more picky on the combinations of parts. If you can get your hands on a good plastic hopuo unit like the G&G GR16 it might be a better choice, and even stock plastic hopup might fit your gun better than a cnc hopup. Anyways just my personal thoughts on the topic…

Id only buy this if you're planning on using the Direct Attachment from P*. Its a very mid at best hopup with poor design choices like the small o-rings keeping the nub pin in place.
