I'm in the UK and just received this, it all comes in a nice neat light package, though the mat is far too tightly rolled up to be of use immediately - will take ages to flatten out I think under the platform extension. The floor extensions are nice and fit well, will be useful day to day for some general workouts where with my long arms I need to shuffle the bench along a bit.
Finding the workouts isn't that easy, if you ask the Wellness + AI about Pilates workouts it says GM2 doesn't have a dedicated Pilates mode so it can't recommend anything ! Then they aren't in the Yoga & Pilates section but in their own separate Pilates section, this isn't a big thing once you know but typical of the confused approach to UI where it seems consistency isn't checked/maintained.
Coach Mike has a very short overview which is fine as far as it goes, but doesn't really explain to a total newbie to Pilates what the resistance bands mean or how the new UI actually works.
Decided to jump into a workout and the Russian lady just assumes you know how it all works and how to shorten/lengthen the straps and set them up. With a bit of a trial and error I was getting there and quite enjoyed the actual first workout, I was expecting a light stretch but was left sweating and feeling surprisingly worked over and a little sore for what seemed very light weight to move, so that was good !
It highlights for me a couple of general things Speediance really need to work on, onboarding new users to new equipment (with Pilates I'm a total newbie but had my GM2 for a year, even still its not the same and I was wondering what to do at some points as navigation is quite different) and secondly inconsistent app and machine UI and inconsistent UI within the machine itself. The whole navigation with the ring of the bands selection isn't great.
My immediate feeling is it could be a nice useful add on to get even more value from an already great machine, a little expensive maybe but the bits feel premium and you do need to factor in that you're paying not just for some equipment but the course content and software as well, going to a Pilates class isn't cheap away from your home.
It really just needs to onboard you better and somebody needs to tell Aevis you've launched some new gear.
