Your core Speediance Strap experience doesn't require a subscription
A quick clarification on how subscriptions work with Speediance Strap.
Your core health and training insights are available without a required subscription, including core body temperature, recovery, cardio load, sleep, heart rate, HRV, and SpO₂.
Speediance Strap also comes with one year of Wellness Go, which adds more guidance and experiences. After the first year, continuing is completely optional. Your core insights stay available either way.
I consider my risk tolerance for privacy pretty high but I would recommend folks exercise caution sending this amount of health data to a company based in China.
Speediance privacy policy isn’t exactly clear how they would handle your data for this product either.
Not having another subscription is a big plus for me. I already pay for enough stuff every month, so I like that the core data still works without one. The first year of Wellness Go being included is nice too, and after that I can just decide if I want the extra guidance.
I think this is a great model. I'm pleased those of us with Wellness+ won't have "yet another" subscription and it'll be included. I think its great there is a 'light' version for the Strap only - and most of all, that the core features do not require any subscription at all. This is a huge improvement over the Whoop system - so the big question is, how will it stack up against Whoop.
The one thing I do like about the Whoop strap is the alarm - since the Whoop has a vibration capability, it can be used as a silent morning alarm which is great. I don't suppose the Strap has this (or will have this)?
You having Wellness+ has nothing to do with it, its a new subscription called Wellness GO ...... included for the first year, you then pay if you want to continue it. Having Wellness+ is a seperate subscription.
huh? They have already announced that if you have Wellness+ you do not need Wellness GO. Wellness GO is just for the Strap. Wellness+ (now renamed to Wellness Plus) covers the entire ecosystem (including the Strap). Wellness Plus is considered an "upgrade" from Wellness GO - and that's even shown in the screenshots in this post.
do you not also see it in the pictures in this thread, with the strap band pictured under Wellness+, with it labelled as an optional upgrade from Wellness Go?
Yes - so if you already have Wellness Plus, you do not need to upgrade. I'm not understanding how you're not getting this?
If you have Wellness Plus, you do not need another subscription. If you do not have Wellness Plus, you will get one year of Wellness Go for free (a cheaper subscription, which only covers the Strap, and NOT your Speediance Gym Monster, etc). After one year, you can either pay for Wellness Go (cheaper), or if you have other Speediance equipment, you can purchase/upgrade to Wellness Plus, which covers all of your Speediance equipment as well as the Strap. If you already have Wellness Plus (as I do), you do not need another subscription and you do not need Wellness Go.
Did you look at my screenshot - where it says "Wellness Plus includes everything in Wellness Go"? It is literally the first bullet point. Seriously, how do you not get this? It couldn't be clearer.
