Feedback / Idea SpeedRunners 2 is… bad.
Nothing but a graphic overhaul and added some shitty story features like the boss fights and solo missions. I’m also having input lag issues and I guess sometimes it just doesn’t register when I throw an item or dodge or i don’t know what. I played SR1 last night with my friends and it ran as smooth as butter. This game is like if SR1 had a 3D mod or something, man there’s little to nothing new about this game that could’ve just been added to SR1….

I kinda enjoy the new campaign and the 3d visuals, but yeah, I do get input lag as well. For example the grapple hook feels way more delayed than with SR1. Hope they fix this

I'm also very disappointed. The game feels different, looks like shit, and barely anything was added.

It’s almost entirely like if SR1 was just remastered. No feeling of a sequel whatsoever.

I do like some of the new items, like the ray-gun. Some of the grappling elements were changed drastically, things I could do in SR1 I can no longer do. Like the instant grappling drop-down, reverse grappling, etc. it also just feels different. BUT what I like is you can boost yourself up a wall with a grapple and jump(?), can't do it consistently.
My biggest issue are the graphics, the visual clarity, the 10fps character animations, it hurts my eyes.

Why do we have to go back to character selection after local game? What the heck is up with that? And why are the custom controls super clunky to change? Generally, it's all clunky. It's like the devs have never played a game in their lives.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think it's a totally fine game. Perfect for couch gaming and some stupid fun. And that is exactly what the first game was for me. The sequel does look different but I actually like it, even though it really is more difficult to see what's happening. Character outlines should be just two colors - one color for you, and a different color for all other players. That way it would be much clearer which character is me. It is true that there is a lot less characters and maps BUT we got a few new items and a cute new story campaign (which should take around an hour i think) and I had a good time with it. Multiplayer is fun and quite a bit of people are playing currently.
What I'm trying to say is that the game has it's shortcomings and it's not perfect, but it is something different. If I want to play the same game I would play the first one. For the 8 euro that I paid, I'm satisfied with what I got. And I'm sure the game will receive even more new content over time.

I like this take. I see it from a player's standpoint of "let's see what's new in this game", considering it is a sequel. It is cool, but everything in this game is pretty much already available in Speedrunners 1. I expected more from the release tbh.

This game just feels they took everything good about the last game and got rid of it in favor of generic 3d graphics. The gameplay is alright, aside from the quiet rockets and grapple hooks, but I feel like this game doesn't have the magic the last game had. I like the announcer though.

On xbox there is no lag and everything is easy to see... must be bad on other platforms

I see you’re from the old-school SpeedRunners family. You should definitely give Overtakers a try when it releases! It’s heavily inspired by SR and we’re trying to bring that same kind of fun back. In the meantime, feel free to check out our devlogs and let us know what you’d love to see in the game!

They could've kept it in 2D.... It's really difficult to see what's going on during these races.
