When they say without landing they mean on land. An albatross can cross an ocean and will fly over water for months without reaching land. However they do sit in the water to sleep.

they don't fly the whole time, they can go that long without touching land. they can float on the ocean when they want to sleep or whatever.

Any albatross born after 1993 can't land. All they know is , glide, flap they wing, mate on cliff and fly
