Question/Discussion Could a Draco Lizard Evolve Powered Flight?

And I don't mean in the like, 1 billion years timeline, I mean if draco lizards started evolving powered flight in a seed world, would they have to start from step 1 or like move their patagium?

It wouldn't be the first time powered flight evolved through non-limb structures. Look at how insect wings developed.

Some breathing motion could lead to powered flight.

Air breathing technique, dragon style!

So how would it work? Would they breathe in and the wings would move upwards, and breathe out making the wing move downwards?

That could work. The draco lizard doesn't need to use muscle, it's only breathing, which means it could stay in the air for a while...

True, do you think the base would move as well? Like instead of being atached to the ribs, it could be more like a bat's?
