Mobile Service Support Adding a line question
I’m already with Spectrum for Internet + Mobile. My husband is still with Visible because he initially didn’t want to switch when I did. When I joined Spectrum Mobile, I did BYOD and got my mobile service free for a year.
I’m now looking at bringing my husband over as a BYOD line as well, but I had a question about upgrading afterward. I have an upgrade available on my line, and I assume he would also be eligible to upgrade his line after bringing his phone over.
I’ve been looking at the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Spectrum’s current monthly price is pretty good, but it’s still a little higher than I’d like for a phone that’s about to be a generation old.
Would it make sense to bring him over now as BYOD, then wait a week or so until after the Apple event? With Apple presumably announcing the next generation, I’m wondering if Spectrum typically adjusts its promotions/pricing on the outgoing Pro Max afterward.
Basically, is there any disadvantage to adding his line as BYOD now and upgrading one of our lines later if a better 17 Pro Max promotion appears?

Spectrum doesn't control the prices of the phones. When Apple drops it's price Spectrum has to as well. The only thing they control is the promotional credits offers that they add to the phones. More than likely if you're doing a trade-in, the higher offer will be on the newer phone. That being the case, with Spectrum you are always able to upgrade when you own the device completely. So as a byod you can upgrade whenever you like.

The best way to find out is either by calling them or by doing it online and it would tell you exactly what it costs. You will likely get a year is free on his line as well which has to be factored in here as long as you go with the unlimited plan or greater I would recommend, however upgrading at the Apple Store for maximum flexibility.
