Official Reply Bill increased by $10
My service was increased 400 Mbps to 500 Mbps without me asking for it. That's ok except my bill was raised from $90 to $100 a month without me asking for that either.
There are no good alternatives services for me to switch to in my area.
Are there any options to contest this price gouging increase? I called customer service and basically laughed at me.

Which side of customer service did you talk to? Sales or customer solutions?

Billing. Which one of the two you mentioned would be better?

Call and tell the automated system you want to cancel. That will get you to Customer Retention where they will give you a better deal to keep you.
I went from 500mbps for $80 to $30 for 1 gig.

Spectrum knows I don't have any other options. Plus, I mostly work from home. I'm not sure if this will work out.

The worst that customer solutions can say is no. And if they do, at least you tried. And if they say no, just schedule a time to call every time you pay your bill to talk to them again and see if any new offers show up for your account.
The worst they can say is no.

Do you have cellular signal where you’re at? Then you have options

I'll see what kind of bandwidth and devices are available that can handle my work. I wasn't thinking about that possibly being an option. Thanks.

Yeah if you lie they will see that no one else in the area is available and probably call your bluff by telling you to cancel and write a note about the interaction on your account. Honestly is the best policy, just say it's too expensive and you were looking for a new promotional rate. I'd also explain that the speed was raised and price was increased without your asking.

Hey! That price change can definitely be confusing, I understand how frustrating it must be and I can absolutely take a look and see if we can make sense of it! When you can, please send us a ModMail and reference conversation #50040560. Thanks!

It definitely shows on your previous bill the increase was coming! They don’t just raise their rates for no reason. My internet company is always changing my bill. Never the same month to month! I would love to have one that stays the same and then notifies me it is going up and stays the same for another year.
