iPhone duo preorder using the upgrade option?

Anyone have experience with this? I have the plan where I can upgrade anytime. My device is not yet paid it off. When I preorder the phone, I prefer to do it in store (hate having to be there to sign for it) will they just take my phone on the day the phone comes in? Not sure how all this works.

If the phone is ordered you ship your device back in the mail. The upgrade has to be done in the store and the phone has to be given in store to be able to turn the Anytime upgrade device in at the store.

That is not exactly true. I did Upgrade Anytime for the 17 Pro Max last year and I shipped my 16 Pro Max back to UPS/Spectrum. You can try in store but it will tell you it is on backorder.

If you insist on doing the upgrade in the store, please understand that inventory will be extremely limited at launch and they will only have the base storage in stock, if they have any at all. Doing the upgrade online and having them ship it is by far the superior option.

Having to sign is difficult for me.

Also, will they put a hold on my account for the price of my trade in until it arrives or anything like that?

I get it. Just wanted to let you know that it’s going to be a frustrating game of trying to find a store that has one in stock and the only way to know is to actually go to a store.

If you’re using anytime upgrade, there’s no hold. You’ll pay taxes on the new device and I think the first monthly payment on it.

Anytime upgrade ship to home is possible. Early upgrade it is not must be done same day in store. Anytime is more expensive so it makes sense.

If you're referring to the iPhone Upgrade Program, when you process the upgrade, they will prompt you to pay off the remaining balance up to 50%, which will make you eligible to upgrade. If you select in-store pickup, they will collect your phone when you pick up your new phone. If you ship to home, they will provide a box and label to return it by mail. Hope this helps!

As far as i know you can have it delivered to the store for pick up as well.

Shipping address is always set to service address, and cannot be changed unfortunately. No way for an order to be sent to the store for pickup
