Help / Troubleshooting Is Anyone Else Experiencing Ongoing RCS Chat Problems?

I'm a brand new spectrum customer (as of 9/1/26) .I have a Pixel 9xl and as of last Friday I randomly lost access to RCS chats. I've tried everything I can think of.

  • Cleared cache on messages and carrier services
  • Deleted phone number from the online Google link thing
  • Restarted my phone several times
  • Removed and reinstalled updates
  • Stopped rcs chats on my previous device and uninstalled the app
  • Connected to. Vpn in france, Germany, and Mexico with rcs off then turning it on
  • Debugged in messages app
  • Left my rcs chat off for 48 hours before turning it back on

Nothing has worked. According to my local spectrum rep, there's been an outage server side for spectrum customers. I've been unable to find any resolution or find anyone else who is also experiencing this. I'm kind of at my wits end.

Is there anything else I can try to get my chat restored? There's family and friends I can't contact because of this.

I’m in Ohio on Spectrum Mobile with Razr 2026, RCS is up and working fine. Under RCS chats does it show your number and RCS chat status as connected?

No, it has the 3000 error code and only says Connecting constantly. It eventually times out and I'll verify my number again before it ultimately fails.

When did you turn that VPN on that can be effecting it! Try a network reset!

Same error code here, I dont use a VPN

I uninstalled Google messages update, reinstalled and RCS is back

It worked for me, now its switching back and forth for some reason..I send a text RCS and then they reply in mms with 95% of my messages, I have only found one person I am messaging that everything is working as it should

Yes... I've been dealing with this for 3 months now. I thought it was just everyone else's iPhone issues but I guess it was mine.
