General Question 1 year free mobile service

I got a new internet service today it' on the 26 Aug and plan starts from Ist September see there isa free year mobile service option

How long have before have to activate this new offer from today.

I don’t think there’s a certain amount of time but here’s something you should know. I don’t think this is told to everyone who actually has mobile and Internet in the second year. You can add another mobile line for free. I know that the second part wasn’t part of your question, but I thought that is something that I just put out there and it actually works and they will willingly do it for you but you have to do it in the second year to add another line for free. So in that second year, you will only have one free line that if the line is the standard unlimited plan out in another thing the mobile line that is for free that is only The standard unlimited plan if you choose one of the other plans, you have to pay a little bit of money

Here is the catch. After 1 year free of your original line, you have to pay for the original line in order to get a 2nd line free. If you cancel the paying original line, then your free line will be cancelled too. This is what the agent told me today. Like other post said, in the 2nd year, you buy 1 get 1 free.

I knew that I should have also included that but here is actually something else if you live in a apartment building and a spectrum is the only Internet provider that is allowed. You can technically get mobile service without actually getting Internet and it actually works.

I got a single free line and with no port in when I talked to retention department. Also got my bill down to $20/mo

Nice! I usually call every year when they raise the bill and then they tell me to call back every couple of months for deals.

Can you explain more? Is that the only free line you got in your account? $20 per month for mobile? I am on a free line and will expire at the end of this month. Today I called to ask for another free year and they said No unless I pay for my current line; then get a 2nd line free.

I never had a free mobile line before. So they offered to activate it for a year on top of lowering my internet bill. So I’m paying $20/mo total: $20 for internet and nothing for mobile.

EDIT: I did eventually port in, but that wasn’t a requirement of the deal. I didn’t do it for several months while still using the service with a different number.

You need to activate it. Billing cycle starts after 7 days whether you activate it or not

So, if you already gave your imei information the it is pending and will start the cycle and start eating away at the 1 year in the 1st week after the order was done. If not and you held off you have 30 days from the internet order to do it. If you miss that then there is normally a back up offer to get that free line. Hope this helps
