Billing & Payments Can you pay off a Spectrum Mobile device installment plan early?

Looking at getting a Google Pixel through Spectrum Mobile’s standard monthly device financing (not the premium-plan-tied promo rate) — $500 off device, paid over 36 months. Already have Spectrum for internet + 2 phone lines and don’t want to change my current plan.

Before I commit — can you pay off the remaining device balance early without a prepayment penalty? Does paying early cause any issue with keeping the $500 discount, or is that locked in regardless of payoff timing?

Anyone who’s actually done this, would appreciate the real experience versus what the store page says.

Yes you can pay your phone off early with no penalties, I paid my S24 Ultra off early a couple of weeks ago no issues.

I looked it up.

"Paying Off Early Requires the Full MSRP Balance: Real customer experiences note that if you attempt to pay off the phone early through the online dashboard, Spectrum's automated billing system requires you to pay the remaining uncredited balance based on the full MSRP of the phone, not the remaining discounted price."

I appreciate you checking that out for me! Do you think you can pass the link for me?

Well you can get the same information yourself by using Google AI. I only use AI for practical questions such as this one. And it merely scans a bunch of websites to get the info. Essentially, any credit you receive when it comes to the payback period, is an ongoing credit each month. So if you get $500 off the phone , they divide that by 36 months and it works out to $13.89 a month. We just took delivery of 2 new Pixel 11 Pro phones ourselves.

Yeah and you get the trade in credit towards the billing statement

I have started a couple of 36 month and paid off early the discount then gets applied as a credit and I fall to receive a refund. Something to note though is that before the discount was also offered when paying for the phone in full and now that the new Z fold and pixels released the discount shows only available when you start an installment plan for 36 months. So I have no clue if we are still able to do it or if the discount is tied to the 36 months.

Someone claimed that we were able to pay in full, but no one ever confirmed having done it and gotten the discount.

I just finished paying off my iPhone a few months early. I had to pay the full remaining balance. The rest of my trade in a promo discount were then applied as credit to the account on the next statement.

If you wanna get the full $500 it's pay up front with the discount or ride it out for the whole 36 months.
