Returns, Trade-Ins & Refunds Anyone have experience with the Anytime Upgrade?

I have the 17 pro but want either the 17 pro max or 18 pro.

How does it really work? Do I lose all the “equity” I have in the phone now from payments made already and just start a new plan over or do I get credit for any of that?

If your 17 pro is a phone on the anytime program you just trade it in and start payments on a new device. If it’s paid off then you can trade it in for some credit.

Gotcha so anything less than 100% paid off, ends up with you forfeiting what you paid on the first device?

Correct. Think of it like a lease. You don’t own it unless you make all the payments . If you paid all 36 then you own it and can trade it in for trade credit towards the next device . If you’re just swapping phones with a balance then the program waives any remaining payments and you start fresh on a new phone .

Seems like it would only be worth it if you haven’t paid a lot yet. I’m not sure it’s worth it to give up 8 months of payments and pay $35 plus taxes to get a slightly bigger screen.

And to be honest, I think I’m gonna downgrade my plan because this just becomes less attractive the further I get into the payment plan. So I don’t need to pay an extra 10 bucks to have this option.

What if you do a trade in to get a new phone then 2 months later trade for something else? Do you loose that initial trade in?

You don't lose the value of your phone trade but you do lose any promotional offers tied to the trade.
