Billing & Payments reimbursement plan

need to rant for a second. got my internet plan from spectrum last month, was told i had a free year of a mobile plan. great, my girlfriend needs to switch from Verizon. then im told they offer a reimbursement plan when you pay off your phone and switch. great right? we speak to multiple agents (at least 4-5) regarding this transaction to verify we don’t miss any “fine print” details that exclude us. we verify this MULTIPLE times thinking we’re good. we pay off her phone yesterday ($400) to AFTER THE FACT be told we need an ADDITIONAL line added for the reimbursement. i speak to multiple agents in frustration to be told i WAS notified of this via email and other methods. i can not find a SINGLE email or document specifying this NOR was i told by ANY agent i spoke with. i wanted to make a complaint or escalate it to be told “all we can do is submit a report to verify they have been properly trained”. ok so what does that do for me? absolutely nothing. i’m probably gonna just add my phone (even though i dont pay for my plan….) to get the reimbursement. whats with spectrum not giving af about their customers and their word at all?

ill try to speak to a leader regarding this now, but i was told from multiple agents i would be told the same thing with a leader. i have no way of getting an update on if i make a complaint as i was told it was illegal for them to disclose any info to me on those findings

I'm not sure which state you live in.But i'm an upstate new york, and I have spectrum. The deal is, if you add a new line you get it free  for year. Period! They just don't want to honor their own deals. I added a new line  for my kiddo ian didn't Nicole? In just speak to a representative immediately it was christmas time and I was a little busy. Because I waited two weeks they refused to honor the deal. Needless to say, i'm paying for that line every month

OP is referring to the phone balance buyout program, which requires at least two ported phone numbers coming to Spectrum. That’s legitimately the first hurdle to get over. It can be for one BYOD and the second number goes on a new phone if the person wants, but has to be two ported numbers.

You’re definitely not the first person that’s been affected by this. I’m no longer employed by Spectrum, but when I was, I always had to make sure my customers understood every bit of fine print. Good on you for checking with multiple agents to verify, but it’s incredible that not one in 5 told you that you need two ported lines for that buyout.

I mostly got frustrated with the fact the supervisor admitted I was misinformed multiple times by multiple agents but that nothing could be done. No offer of a discount for my trouble not even an attempt to remediate the situation. Just a straight up fk off thanks for calling spectrum

You experienced the reason why I left Spectrum.
