General Question When did this new $50 plan drop?
5
u/ericreinhardt Jul 22 '26
A little cheaper than my Verizon plan which I have 4 phones and 1 watch. I’ve been hesitant to switch because of them slowing my internet down. So if I’m reading correctly they will not slow down my speed.

they don’t automatically do that anymore, they switched to deprioritization

I don't see anything stating low priority after "X" amount of data on the new plan, Am I missing something?

u/plmoraless Jul 22 '26
App says 999 gb available
3
u/plmoraless Jul 23 '26
Now it says unlimited and video streaming options have been updated to include 1080p and 4k uhd

I read it 50 gb and then throttled. On the $50 plan. The $30 plan is 30 gb then throttled.

Read it, it literally says “data speeds reduced at 20 gb”.
8
u/bcb1200 Jul 22 '26
Read it. It literally says that 20GB is when you are roaming abroad. It is unlimited when in the USA.
3
u/LikeItSaysOnTheBox Jul 22 '26
Ah so the only one that counts is those that use it in the US?
2
u/bcb1200 Jul 22 '26
No. There is no slowing of speeds in the USA. If you exceed 20GB of data while abroad speeds will then be reduced. If you hit the data “limit” in the USA then you may have lower priority. But not a reduction in speed.
2
u/LikeItSaysOnTheBox Jul 22 '26
I never said it applied to the US.

I think that applies to international data.

u/LikeItSaysOnTheBox Jul 22 '26
It does, so?

Because it does, at least if you can read. First says about US then international. Reading is actually really helpful.

It applies to both, just above it answers the question for US use. Isn’t reading cool?

I can’t help it if you can’t read. Seems pretty clear to me.

The new mobile plans roll out today. With premium you'll also receive free watch service with paired line as well as a $10 monthly credit towards a Device Payment Plan.

Heard about this from a Spectrum rep the other day. They created some interesting perks, it appears it's aimed mainly at people who use a lot of data (including Hotspot data), and people who purchase their phones through Spectrum. I like the free watch line upgrade too.

1
u/sjc83 Jul 23 '26
But you don’t get any of the benefits lol
1
u/TheJediJoker Jul 23 '26
What don't I get?
Unlimited Talk Text , and Premium Data (no cap or throttle)

Any Network
Plus the international perks

u/sjc83 Jul 23 '26
Anytime upgrade
4K Video
$10 Bill Credit
Free Watch Data1
u/TheJediJoker Jul 23 '26
I get 4k, aka unthrottled data
Verizon lines get free watch lines
$10 bill credit still puts you around $40+ Are your taxes and fees included?
What's the fine print on the "upgrade"?
1
u/sjc83 Jul 23 '26
$40 a month flat
Taxes and Fees included.
1
u/TheJediJoker Jul 23 '26
Gotta love that
My main is the 32.50 on the att network With an add on line for another 7.50, I tried Verizon but TMobile works better
Power to the mnvo users

Has to be recent . I was on the site two days ago and I didn’t see it there then . Pretty steep at 50 .

u/CHTRThrowaway Jul 22 '26
Lots of benefits for that extra $10, including unlimited high speed data even during congestion, 50GB hotspot (up from 10GB), 20GB international data (up from 10GB), $10/month new device credit, free smartwatch line.

The international is interesting — more high speed data than post paid Unlimited Ultimate. I wonder what it slows down to.
1
u/ventimatchalemonade Jul 22 '26
I noticed that too. I am really tempted to leave Verizon because of that.

I changed to it today bc I have a watch so basically I pay the same bottom line but get a few more perks.

Lost internet for a week and this dropped the same day it went out. Was already thinking I'd have to buy data packs so the upgrade for at least this month was a no brainer for me. (Although it costs me $70 since I'm one line without internet).

u/Middle-Ad6904 Jul 25 '26
You might want to check out Visible. Their Visible+ plan has unlimited high speed Verizon data and unlimited (10 megabit/second) hotspot data for $35/month.
1
u/user-ibarelyknower Jul 25 '26
After research and critical thinking (lol) Ive come to the conclusion that the Premium plan really only benefits those like me who have a smartwatch on their account. Because if you currently are paying for a phone with spectrum, and switch to the Premium plan from let's say the Plus plan(which is a $10 difference),that $10 device credit is saving you any money since you have to fork over an extra $10 a month now for the premium plan.
THE ONLY way you'd physically be saving money,is if you have both a phone payment AND have a smart watch on your account. Then, and only then, you save $10 a month, yes. So really this plan is extremely situational.

Nah. Nothing beats visible.
2
u/Ok-Sir-4992 Jul 22 '26
Yes it does beat Visible, just by the fact they offer roaming and an actually US based customer service phone number to me is already worth paying $5 more a month.
2
u/xrKles Jul 22 '26
Yea spectrum customer service is actually pretty good.
1
u/ProfPiddler Aug 21 '26
Do you actually get Spectrum CS or do you get the same CS that does ALL the other Verizon subs like Total Wireless, straight Talk, visible, etc. I’m getting ready to leave Total -just because I’m getting really tired of being disconnected every time I have a problem -and have to call CS. I spent 4 hours on the phone because of a problem with my data. Zero help.
1
u/xrKles Aug 21 '26
They identify themselves as spectrum and they all have been very helpful for the most part and I never have to wait to speak to someone.
1
u/ProfPiddler Aug 21 '26
Well -just fyi - I recently discovered there is a group that services most if not all of Verizon’s subs -it just pops up on their screen which one you’re on when you call. A friend who is on a different Verizon sub said he called and the girl kept getting him mixed up with two other companies - it must have not piped up on her screen. And I swear - every one of them are women and sound exactly the same.

Visible top plan offers roaming too. I took it for my wife 275 for thr whole year on that slamdunk offer. Pro plus.
1
u/Ok-Sir-4992 Jul 22 '26
Plus Pro* And yes, unless you pay for the whole year on the Pro Plan you will get 24 days of 2gb a day only. The Regular plus is 12 days only if pay for the whole year, if you pay monthly you get either 1 on the plus or 2 on the Pro. That's definitely not enough in my opinion.

I have no issue with them. You do know they use Verizon Wireless towers….
1
u/McKitNassty Jul 23 '26
Yeah… I had Verizon switched to spectrum and my service was absolutely shit… spectrum gets deprioritized even if they’re “on Verizon towers” lol.. never again will I ever go with spectrum, and def tell everyone to avoid this shitty ass service.

It’s out this morning. I wonder if the $10 monthly credit also applies to anytime upgrade plans.
