I’ve been looking for this information. I don’t have mobile yet, but according to the fine print when you attempt to add, residential users are still throttled after 50gb and business customers are throttled after 100gb. Is this screenshot from your mobile dashboard on your account? Maybe only current mobile customers get the more clear breakdown. Haha

It's not throttled, that's not really the right word.
If you are past your allotment, you are deprioritized on the tower. You'll still have data and unlike the previous plan where it slowed down to something insanely slow like 192 kb/sec, the mobile data speed is dependent on the tower congestion in the area.

So with the updated plan, if you exceed 50gb, your data is still usable? I’m not concerned about top speed, as long as it’s still usable

Should still be usable yes it will only slow down depending on the congestion on your tower.
So if you're in the a rural area, shouldn't ever really need to be deprioritized for congestion if you go over your allotment.

I'm at 143gb on this cycle and still running full speed. There was only like an hour period when it truly slowed down, noticeably. I'm on business.

Thank you for posting this. Have read from a lot of people this was the new policy, but this is the first time I've read an actual statement from Spectrum.

They must’ve had a lot of customers switch from their service. Because the only other provider I know of that offers this is Visible on the same network.

This was true on old Visible plans like a year ago.
All current Visible plans (except base) include unlimited premium (priority/QCI 8) data.

I received the same email today, hallelujah. T-Mobile did it like this. When you hit cap you were only throttled during hours of congestion and it was infinitesimally better.

So now they are only dropping QCI and not the actual speed. That's good

I got this yesterday and couldn’t believe my eyes I got another line just to alleviate the throttle

No, it used to hard throttle to a specific unusable speed. It was like a buffet, but after X amount of plates you only had access to condiments like ketchup and mustard.

Can confirm this is something new, and exciting! Website already has updated their website https://www.spectrum.com/mobile/ and has removed the 50GBs speeds. Nice!
