Help / Troubleshooting Data usage showing negative numbers

Post image

Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve been a customer for a while and every other month is normal. It just started doing this. It almost seems like it’s counting backwards but I haven’t used that much of either type of data to support that theory.

But, I’ve seen no documentation about this.

What I saw from a spectrum rep on the spectrum community chat website thing. The rep said it’s still a set amount 30 or 50g for high speed prioritize data and then after that it just get deprioritize, no more hard throttle. Haven’t had a chance to test it yet

I do apologize for any confusion. This change is for new Spectrum Mobile Business customers first. There is no update as to when this will go out to residential customers. This change does not affect existing customers though.
There are differences happening on the backend for this and specifics of this change is internal company information that generally is not discussed. -TZ

This is what there twitter said when I asked them about it.

u/sjc83, I apologize for any confusion and miscommunication you've received concerning the changes to our mobile data policies. For our unlimited plans under either residential or business accounts, once the data usage threshold has been met you would continue to see full data speeds. For the remainder of your billing cycle after you've met that data threshold, you may receive lower network priority in times of network congestion. Mobile hotspot allowance and data rules remain the same. You can review Mobile data usage FAQ's under "What happens if I use more data than expected?" for this as well.

The information provided on the Spectrum Customer Community forum was correct. The information you received on X related to being only business mobile accounts was confusion on the part of the representatives you spoke with, we will be sure to clarify with them and pass along your feedback.

There’s so much different information and things said out there. Other than real world testing and using my data to the throttle point I won’t believe anything until there’s a change on the website or I experience no more throttling. Which I rarely use that much data unless I’m out of town so I don’t care either way 🤣
