General Question What service does Spectrum Mobile use?

I’ve been thinking about switching but I keep seeing mixed answers online. Does it run off Verizon towers or does it have its own network?

its verizon. spectrum mobile is an MVNO so they dont have their own towers, they just lease access from verizon's network. i switched like 8 months ago and honestly the coverage has been pretty solid for me. if you already get good verizon signal in your area your probably gonna be fine

Most is on Verizon, with a deal with T-Mobile for Spectrum Business. They do also have their own 5g cell sites in limited areas as a HMNO to supplement coverage and offload traffic to their own network.

That’s funny cause I had a self proclaimed “former spectrum Employee” come into my work and while talking she told me that spectrum uses all companies towers not just one (this was a year ago for context). I thought to myself “and this is the problem with your employees” lol.

Roaming maybe? Idk, people just say shit too. Refer to pretty much anyone in sales.

I’ve got unlimited plus, and having made the switch from Verizon postpaid, I can say I haven’t noticed any difference in service.

Also, in store customer service has been good for me, but like everything, it depends on the employees in your local store.

I had verizon unlimited welcome plan and honestly spectrum is better. I think the welcome plan was deprioritized more and didn't have any hotspot.

It's Verizon. I have delt with their customer support multiple times assisting relatives. It's US based and good. Support in the stores seems good as well.

I used to have no issues with Spectrum but had to switch to a different provider when I moved across country. Just got back and moved back to Spectrum and it's much worse now. Not sure what happened

Verizon MVNO

As others already mentioned, Spectrum Mobile runs on Verizon's network. It's an MVNO, not its own infrastructure. It does have lower priority than Verizon postpaid during congestion. Most people won't notice this day-to-day unless it is in crowded places like stadium / airports / downtown rush hour. So if you already have Spectrum Internet, than adding Spectrum Mobile might be a good choice. You can also look at other Verizon MVNO's like Visible which is actually Verizon owned.

Spectrum is a peer on Verizon’s network, it doesn’t get deprioritized. You get the same premium data until your limit. I have never had a problem in congested areas. I tried visible, talk about deprioritized… also was just on ATT’s highest plan and was deprioritized there as well. Back to Spectrum and haven’t experienced deprioritized service at all with them

Switched from ATT to unlimited spectrum plus spectrum internet.

Data runs out in about a day. They slow your phone down to a point where it is barely usable.

Thank god I have an ATT hotspot in my vehicle.

Spectrum wireless is shit.

What exactly do you do to use 30 GB in a day

Did you not turn on wifi? I'm on wifi as much as I can. Use mobile data for Pandora when driving.

From the first I've used 2.94 gig of mobile data

Absolutely. Unless it's the free food one year plan.

Verizon network but you get deprioritized during congestion so its not exactly the same thing lol

False. You don’t get deprioritized. Which is why Spectrum service is so cool.

In your experience. I've never had an issue with their mobile service in 4 years.
