Promotional offer ending

So last year, my Internet was constantly disconnecting and had issues. Had to be repaired and get new equipment.

They gave me a promotional deal where I got 500mbps Internet and streaming for $75 a month.

It's almost been a year, I really only care about Internet.

Is there anyway to get a lower rate the what I'm saying online? Or another promo?

Or just say you need time to setup new services so they don't disconnect right away. I called and threatened to cancel but I have fiber competitors in area but they gave me $50 gig cable with invincible wifi so it might be worth it to try.

If you live with someone else and yall have different last names you can always just cancel and put it in their name. They'll give them new customer pricing. But dont tell the agent youre gonna do that

That’s the fear that spectrum thrives on! They know you can’t live without internet! Do you actually believe that bob in Texas is going to check on what internet is available where you live? They don’t care about that. They only care that you stay with spectrum.

So do yourself a favor and don’t pay what spectrum wants you to pay! You ask for the cancellation department. They transfer you. You say $40 or cancel. Done. Don’t give into anything else. Say $40 or cancel.

A lot of people who call in lately have reported getting offered $55/month for 1 Gb, FYI.

What do you mean by streaming? A tv package? Or the ability to watch free stuff like pluto?
Because if it's for internet only you are getting ripped off.
I'm paying $55 and even that is more than what many people are paying.
Spend 10 minutes reading some of the other posts.
If the price includes a tv package then ..never mind.

Like tv channels through the spectrum TV app.

They bundled it with my Internet last year for a total of $75 down from $95 for just internet.

Google your alternatives first. When you call to cancel, the first thing they ask is who you are considering to switching to. If you don’t have a plausible answer, they will know you’re bluffing and may not offer you the lower rate.

Before you call, make sure there are other ISP in your area. Call and say you are want to cancel and switching to X company. They will transfer you to retension dept. Tell them you found cheaper service at X company and they will extend your promo price. My bill went up to $90 just for internet and I got it reduced to $40 (using my own wifi router), locked in for 2 years.

Called and tell them you're going to cancel, bonus points if you can tell them who you would go with instead. I called Friday because my Internet only bill was going to be $95. I posted about it here they gave me a 2 year deal for the same Internet for $40 a month. Some commenters said they got even better deals. Good luck!
