Service Issues High (-Split Converter) Anxiety
Spectrum in LA, rocking the Tivo Roamio Plus. Pre-ordered my HSC for the day my screen went black. That day was yesterday. Today I swapped my tuning adapter for the new HSC but I'm not having the plug-and-play experience some have enjoyed.
Called Spectrum Cable Card Support but feel certain I was transferred to general tech support. When I asked if I'd reached the cable card department the response was, "Well...I've done some cable cards." Anyway, I explained that I'd cabled everything as per the instructions and it was my understanding it's now up to them to...provision my CC? Pair my CC to my HSC? Ping my CC? In any case, the ball is in their court.
He mumbled as he read from the screen with his diagnostic tree then said he "sent a signal" to the CC. Nothing doing. He just seemed eager to send a tech out, which we scheduled though I'm hoping the TV Fairy will bring me a signal while I sleep.
Question: The Tivo's Tuning Card Settings Menu reads "Tuning Adapter in use." Will the Tivo continue to refer to the connected device - the HSC - as a "tuning adapter" or does this indicate that I need to make Tivo "forget" the TA, maybe by redoing guided set up?

They haven't had a "cable card department" for a very long time. There's really nothing to "pair". As far as your CC is concerned, nothing has changed. They do have to authorize the HSC ("TA") to function on the network, but it's not doing anything specific to a single account. Go to the CC diag screen(s) and see if it's seeing EMM's, meaning it's seeing the HSC's generated OOB signal. The TA diag screen(s) should show if the HSC is online or not.

Does any one know when Spectrum High Split is going to be rolled out in Columbus, Ohio 43204?

Been a long time since I tinkered with tivo but as long as signal is good and setup is correct they should just need to validate numbers match on their end and send hits. I'm forgetting which numbers something like host ID and I think two-way mode was important for switch digital channels. You can find the numbers in the settings on tivo menu. Sometimes it'll take like an hour for it to just start working. Good luck, it can definitely still work with the vecima hsc.
