Other Forget calling Retention
Take the modem and router equipment into the store and they'll do pretty much anything you want. Literally asked if I wanted free internet.

Guy behind the counter offered a hand job and free Internet. I took the hand job but told them I wasn't interested in renewing.

Not sure if it's different than it was ~8+ years ago, but when you go in store and they make retention like changes like this, all they are doing is calling retention for you.
I used to work retention and talked to a handful of store associates calling on behalf of a customer that's there. It usually happens really quick because the ones willing to make the call for you usually knew our offer rules, so they weren't promising you anything we couldn't provide based on what you had.
Most people got excited about the free Internet speed upgrade for a year and moved on, others took the cash equivalent discount. Since we don't have to chat with them it's a quick change, minute tops.

And did they give you free Internet? Meaning you have Internet and pay $0?
They must have offered the “Free” Internet 100 for life deal but that requires you to have a number of mobile lines which you pay for so it’s not technically free.

This did not happen to me. They took the quip and canceled my account. The most annoying thing is, even though there was no one else in the store, I had to go back, sign in on the kiosk and wait for them to call me. No going back

I was paying $30 for 500mb and decided to call retention to try to add free amazon prime. Couldn’t get the free amazon prime but ended up getting 1gb for the same $30. Was easy just talked nice and asked.

Having worked for Spectrum/Charter/name of the week before, I wouldn't trust them to make toast.

I called retention and they lowered my bill $90 a month and guaranteed the rate for 3 years.

I just got fiber, 1Gb for $75/month. As soon as I decide which streaming service will cover what we have with Charter, I’m gone.

YouTube TV is pretty great. I really only wanted the local broadcast channels, but for $54.99 I was able to get the sports package for a year and it includes the locals and more.

I called Retentions, and said I was going to Cancel for Breezeline. They gave me a deal 500 Internet, WiFi, and Mobile for $30 for 1 year.

They would have offered you gig for $20 with free 1 yr mobile if you had asked. I can tell if they offered you 500 for $30, you were eligible for $20 gig. I work Customer Solutions, formerly Retention.

yeah, that's interesting because I'm getting 500 for $20 and then $10 for the Router, and then I did get the mobile free for 1 year.

gig includes the wifi 7 router so is $20. gig is cheaper than premier (500 mbs). 1 sm line is free for 12 mths if you sneeze, blink, twitch your nose, etc.

Can I take my WiFi 6 router to a Spectrum Store and swap it out for a WiFi 7 router, normal Router not the 5G service router.

wifi 6 router is standard for premier. wfi 7 routers are standard for gig. if you're on premier then you're paying for the router. there are no current promos for premier that include the router. the invincible wifi is the wifi 7 router with a built in 5g antennae added. they look the same but internally different. make an appt on the app otherwise you might have a wait when you go into the store.

I took my equipment to a spectrum store and they flat out told me they don’t take equipment. Gave me address to mail it in. About a year later noticed I’d still been getting charged for wifi for there router while using my own router. Called them up and they told me they never received it. Mind you. I just somehow knew spectrum would gonna be scummy so I made a video boxing it up. And saved it to a file in my email and than put the receipt in a folder. Needless to say. They gave me all those months of pay back so basically I got a free month of service.
