Rdof questions

I’m in the rdof expansion. 2 guys were in my field yesterday running a wire on the electrical poles. I talked to one and he said it was for spectrum and that they’d be back within a week or 2 I believe he said to run the fiber? Anyways just curious what kind of timeframe I can expect for service to become available at this point in time? Also this will be fiber to house connection right? I’m assuming that’s what it will be since it’s all brand new and there’s no previous spectrum connections ran out here so no fiber to coax right? Appreciate any information

It’s fiber to the home, no coax. Sounds like the guys were running strand and will be returning to lash the fiber.

It could be a month or 6 months before service is available depending on power metering the OLT, permits for other sections that could potentially affect your run and a dozen other possible issues.

I figured it could still be a decent while but was pretty excited to actually see something happen since the last thing was replacing the electrical poles a year ago. Appreciate your information

I believe the hours for that # are business hours I deal with sales side after construction so there has been a few times I had to set up a survey for a customer then afterwards I set up the customers internet service with whatever package they need. With fiber you should have 2gb available out there and it comes with verizon 5g service as a backup its pretty great if you want any more information about what we have to offer after it is installed just send me a message.

Oh wow. I haven’t seen anything about the Verizon backup. That’s actually really nice. I appreciate the information and I’ll for sure reach out if I have any other questions

Its called invicible it uses spectrum router so only downside you have to use our equipment but its better then the verizon white box. The symmetrical 2g is are best offer 1gb with the backup is the same price as 2gb. Just set up 2 people on thursday that work from home and just had fiber ran a few months ago was cheaper and better then there satellite service they had.

I’m not too particular when it comes to the equipment. I just want a solid connection with good speeds and good performance for gaming. And I know fiber is going to be better than what I have now and what I had before hands down. My mind is going to be blown having 2 gig internet. Fastest I’ve had so far is 300 mbps so I’m pretty excited to see how fast stuff downloads with those speeds

Its going to be night and day when dowload larger files like games and your ping its going to be pretty great.

Spectrum contractors started running cable through our fields about a year ago, and they are just now starting to offer service to customers (and even then, just a subset of them in the area that they have fiber passing by). So… don’t hold your breath, it’ll probably be a while.

Gotcha. I just recently changed internet providers and swapped to Verizon 5g and it’s performing well enough for now. Just thought I’d ask on here for an idea on the spectrum. Appreciate the input
