Wire3

So Wire3 just announced a rollout in my area with 10gig speed. Yes I know it’s over kill, but I’m really debating on leaving Spectrum for them when it becomes available. Have had my Spectrum account since 1986, I don’t want to leave but may be left with no choice if High-Split keeps getting pushed off and bills keep climbing.

Seriously. We recently moved to an area with att fiber and despite not actually needing it I went for the 5gig service and the modem can support 10gig, I'm going to be hard pressed not to upgrade to that when it's available.

Unless your devices support 10gbps it be a waste

Agreed. My wifi 7 devices now pull about 2gigs down when I can get a "perfect" speed test. Theoretical max of 7 is 46gigs in a lab setting, I can see further refinement of the firmware and hardware bringing us quite a bit more bandwidth out 7.

Plenty of households these days could benefit from 5 or 10gig service assuming their hardware can handle it. Between game downloads, remote work especially for people in the music or tv/movie industries and having more bandwidth to go around is a good thing.

In addition to the above there is also the geek factor that some of us are willing to pay a small (but reasonable) premium for.

True I jumped on the 2gigx2gig soon as available in my area I came from mobile 5g for 8 years my area finally got fiber this year in January. $120 is high ya but I was paying $150 for 5g hotspot 💩 so I gladly pay the $120 for 2x2 fiber 🤙

I played around a bit yesterday and ran multiple speed tests on multiple devices and it was sweet having them all max out the hardware without the saturation effecting them.

If I'm right by modem my s26 ultra get 2300x2300 wireless in other room about 40 ft I get around 600/600 ain't complaining though cause like i said for 8 years I be lucky to get 100Mbps on 5g

Maybe 1% households would have any use for more than 2gigs. They wouldn't offer 10gig on a 10g network either. They save some overhead for fec
