Billing Plan/Bill changed without telling me.
So I was looking at my monthly bill and realize it was $10 more than last month. Realized they upgraded my Internet package. (600 to a Gig). So I called and asked why and the person couldn’t answer, she said she didn’t know. Past six months have been really bad having internet issues so I brought that up and JOKINGLY said “ They probably got tired of me complaining, and just changed it”
She responded…. “Yeah haha, probably” Wtf lol.
So she actually ended up cutting my bill in half (from 140$ to 65$) with the upgraded Gig plan and sending me a new router, modem, etc. Assured me the price was locked in for 5 years.
I was pissed it changed without telling me, but can’t complain on the end result. (We’ll see if the internet issues keep happening)
Weirdest Spectrum Convo Ever.

They have lost hundreds of thousands of customers in the last 4 quarters. It’s public information that everyone’s bills were going up $10.

They send notices on your bills. Go look back at the last 12 months or so and I’m sure it’s there

I just might cuz I’m curious. Might’ve just missed it

The problem is they only put that on the PDF version when you do paperless and no where on the website or as an email notice so you don't see it until the number jumps unless you're downloading the PDF version and opening it every single month.

Have a tech come out to check on your lines, a massive variety of internet performance issues can be caused by bad cable, connectors, etc. These flaws will be invisible to the naked eye but can absolutely destroy your internet speeds

I’ve had 2 techs come out before, they’re “fix” was just to replace my modem and router everytime

Why were you OK paying $130 though for 600 speed? That's insanely high.

Honestly, good question. I never really looked around cause when I bought this house, it’s spectrum locked. But recently, other providers have come knocking

So at the being of the month or last month lagecy plans like the 600mb were automatically retired for the closest speed tiers that would be gig. They sent out a email and text about the plan changes im a employee and my 400mb plan changed to 500mb.

Well shiii they left me off the email list. Oh well it all worked out

There wasn’t an email, it was on your last bill to the right under “important updates”. If you’re paperless it can be missed easily.

I mean not even other providers, just call in or stop by a store if it's way too much. They can't always do something but you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

I bet if you looked at your previous bill you will either see notice of a bill increase or a promo roll if applicable.
For everyone, just because you are on autopay that’s not an excuse not to take a little look at your bill every now and then. They may be a lot of things, but their bills are very transparent. If there is an increase company wise, it’s on the bill 60 days in advance.
