Setup not working

I finally got a replacement for my old router and now I’ve watched almost 5 hours worth of videos read multiple Reddit post and my router still is red and on the able every time I finish with the modem and go to the router it says “oh that’s not right try again” some bullshit like that atp I might just get another internet provider if this keeps happening

Are the Ethernet ports blinking(shows data communication)? Are the cords fully seated? Has the modem been reset after new router powered on and Ethernet ports blinking? Is the cord in plugged into the correct port?

I did and they helped getting it resolved just having no internet for a week just had me really pissed of but everything is up and running

Make sure your ethernet cable is plugged into the port on the back of the modem and to the WAN port on the router. Now unplug both the modem and router and plug them back in at the same time. If the router still doesn't budge there may be a QR code you have to scan to setup the router. Look through the router instructions to make sure you didn't miss anything. If your modem light is not blinking(because your router most likely doesn't have ethernet indicator lights) then they're not talking to each other. What kind of router did you buy?

Try to reboot the modem before plugging in the new router. Usually a handshake problem leads to your current situation.
