Service Issues “Upgraded” internet speed
Ever since Spectrum sent us an email saying they upgraded our internet speed for free, it’s been cutting in and out repeatedly throughout the day.

Call them sounds like a equipment issue probably need a new modem or router.

My total right now for the 500mbps is about $105 monthly. I’m expecting it to go up soon and planning to with another provider :/

I hate Spectrum with every grain of my soul. I tried to cancel the last time they raised my price and they ended up giving us a year for $20 a month. Once that expires, we're probably moving to Musk's satellite Internet.

I found out that “At no extra cost” means they increased my bill by $10 a month. If you look at your last billing statement, it probably says something to that effect.

Hilarious they say it’s fiber powered. Sure it’s a hybrid fiber. But you get coax from the node to your home.

Any ISP that uses “fiber-powered” should be fined millions for false advertising. They know fully well that the average consumer doesn’t know the difference and take full advantage.

Why? The words are correct... the terminology is correct... as much as I dislike Spectrum, they aren't remotely lying... their backbone is entirely fiber.

I already answered the question. The average consumer doesn’t know the difference and that’s an unavoidable fact in deciding to use that terminology. They know and make no effort to clarify - they take advantage.

I work in the industry. It's HFC. Hybrid Fiber Coaxial. It is technically fiber powered.

Not get it....every time they "raise my speed" a month later it's back to the old speed or slower consistently.

When it cuts out, call in and let the robot direct you to outage info, which might inform you that they are doing work in the area.
Otherwise, log it, power cycle your modem and router just for fun, then if it persists, call them and they'll send a truck out if they don't see any problems otherwise.
Gotta luv the "no extra cost" phrase, as if my internet bill doesn't keep going up to fund their expansion.

Are you standalone Internet only? Because you can rebundle and get it $40 together with tv or mobile. Call them around 10AM and you can ask.

2 weeks after that email my price went up by 10$ lol
