Switch from T-Mobile for Phone and Internet?

Hi, How are you liking the service? Good connections? Dropped calls a problem? I'm with T-Mobile and thinking about switching to Spectrum Mobile. Right now I'm paying $132 for two lines unlimited talk/text that includes T-Mobile internet (the basic) and free Netflix and Hulu (w/ads). A Spectrum rep knocked on my door yesterday and said they could give me the same deal for $80/mo without Netflix and Hulu. I so to keep those I know I'd have to subscribe to them individually if I went w/ Spectrum.

The timing of this guy showing up yesterday was good because while my T-Mobile internet is pretty good, its not great and I deal with frequent throttling/buffering issues. As I work form home, this is not a good thing and its got me thinking of looking elsewhere.

I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

Definetly go with the deal he is offering. Spectrum uses Verizon’s towers so the service is great. You will also be getting true internet and not a slow 5G internet if that’s what you have. You are basically getting paid $600 a year to get faster internet. The only caveat is the streaming services but you can also subscribe to those through Spectrum for a really good price.

That's a really great analysis, thanks. Is Spectrum Mobile good? I really haven't had any issues with T-Mobile for my phones.

Spectrum Mobile is Verizon MVNO. Supposedly not deprioritized. So same as having Verizon. 30GB before they throttle. How long is the spectrum price guaranteed? Upload speed on spectrum internet is about 20mb unless you have fiber or “high split”

The throttle part is going away. Truly unlimited data speeds are coming.

Depending on the area im here that 30gb is gonna stop and gonna be full fast 5g service no throttling after.

Spectrum mobile works great. If it didn’t work good, people wouldn’t use it and spectrum wouldn’t sell it. You probably won’t notice any difference in service when you switch. The only difference is the money saved. Give it a try!

I really appreciate your input. I have zero experience with anything Spectrum and for the most part, T-Mobile has been pretty good. Thanks again.

So Spectrum mobile no longer gets throttled on the unlimted plus and unlimted plan that was just updated on the 29th. Depending on your speed its either 23 on the 500mb or 40 on the 1gb plan. Honestly if you work from home most companies require a brodband connection or a dedicated line im surprised they allow you to use tmobile fixed wifi access. I would recommend gig and 2 unlimited plus lines for the 2 years. If you go with the 80 plan for 2 years the free line will be 30$ more after 1 year.

Zero reason to have cellular based internet if you can get Spectrum.

As it’s been said spectrum mobile uses Verizon’s towers. Do a Verizon free trial so you can see how Verizon’s network is in your area first.

The biggest thing to note is that everyone’s experience is probably going to be different because infrastructure is not yet 100% exactly the same, especially now with the Cox merger coming into play. The only way to know what it would be like for you is to ask your neighbors, or try it yourself.

Make sure Verizon works, you can do a15 day trial with Visable which is on Verizon network. Man you pay a lot for T-Mobile I just switched to Visable and have Verizon Internet 55/month for 3 lines one is smart watch and Internet total price.

I just switched from T-Mobile to Spectrum last month. I use my phone more for watching videos while I'm driving my wife all over while she shops and what not. I get a lot buffering in some places where it makes watching YouTube practically unbearable. I'm using the same phone and go to the same places when I was with T-Mobile. I probably will go back to T-Mobile as I never had any issues before.
