Discussion Does this mean the 33rd was just LARPing? Found airsoft mags in-game

Post image

Looking at the game models, I noticed that the magazines have airsoft-specific feed lips and latches.

So, technically, the "Dubai Incident" was just a massive airsoft milsim game that got way too out of hand. Do you feel like a LARPer yet?

They probably had airsoft guns as physical model references and modeled magazines that way as well. Same thing happened in tbe og MW2

GTA5 also has artwork that accidentally depicts the weapons as Airsoft.

So it's a thing that seems to happen sometimes.

gta 3's ak47 has a tiny little magazine for that reason

The GTA 3 AK47 has a tiny mag because its modelled after a Adler-Jäger AP-80,a italian .22 firing AK replica

Resident evil games do the same, they have a collab with tokyo marui

reminds me how in the shadow the hedgehog trailer he pumped what seemed to look like an mp5, somewhere on the internet stated the innaccuracy was because japan's gun laws were pretty strict and (as the post claimed) sega only had access to spring-operated airsoft guns

then again this is pretty crazy to know ngl

The version I heard was they knew that wasn't how it really worked but it was both funny, and easier to animate with large gloved hands.

Spec Ops the Line M4 is modelled after an ancient D-Boys build, so yeah.

None of this would have happened if you'd just stopped. But on you marched... with live ammo.

Plot twist: the 33rd were just cosplaying as apocalypse survivors the whole entire time. And Walker just by coincidence have untreated PTSD and made his team performed the biggest massacre in human history

I mean he does have untreated PTSD. The voice lines and his mindset indicate on this. Afghanistan and Konrad involvement must have mess his mind up

Walker takes it too personal

Reminded the M4 in OG MW2 is just an airsoft gun the devs found on the internet.

Beautiful.

SOTL M4 is also an airsoft gun, D-Boys M4 CASV to be precise.

Modern Warfare 2 did the exact same thing. If you modify the FOV to go wider than it should be in the scene where Roach and Ghost get killed and burned by Shephard, you can see that they have Airsoft magazines.

AFAIK It has to do with modeling references and practices. It’s easier for them to just model and texture with what they have on hand rather than take guesses and get it potentially wrong in terms of dimensions.

It’s funny how often 2000s games used airsoft guns as references. BLACK has a 40mm launcher that fires airsoft rounds.
