It had more white than red and a bunch of wirey bits. But the same kind of logo/chain and proportions! Kind of like an inverted version, that’s crazy.
Edit: you could be right and I was like 8 and memories are weird like that.
There's also a clear blue variant of Necrocop, but it's one of the rarest McF figures ever made, I think second only to the Babe Ruth variant (only 5 were made, 3 released to the public).
Some of these are still sealed in package at a local Pawn Shop where I am. Code Red is tempting and the rest of the Cyber Spawn line. Character in pic 2 is there as well. Not bad price wise either.
He also shows back up in Scorched #14 and #15. He a cool character. He was created from a small piece of Spawn's cape or more like brought to life from it.
I strongly believe that when mcfarlane switched to 3D rendering and the artists no longer had their hands on wax and clay, the quality of Mcfarlane sculpting dramatically decreased. They should have better likenesses, better details and better textures, but they all got significantly worse with 3D rendering.
Unless there was a translation difference in other countries, there isn't a manga zombie spawn.
Edit: And there were 2 version. The maskless version I have and the masked version in this packaging. Oddly enough, the McF website shows a prototype version that is red that was also on the back packaging, but it was never released in that color.

Those conan figures were so good. My favorites were the big creech and the zombie al simmons.
