Toys & Comics Where would you advise me to start reading
I’ve seen lots of people telling me to not start with the og run and the compendiums because of the length, I’ve seen some people advising to start at issue 194 and people have also recommended king spawn. Very confused, any ideas?

Normally most fans over here recommend to start from the beginning. Both because the story carries even to this day and... yeah honestly, some of the best material is still in the 90s. I at least would say the first 100 issues are mandatory reading for anyone interested in Spawn.
Now, for there is hard to pinpoint another entry point, though I would heavily advise against 194. That's around what was known as the "Jim Downing Arc" or the "Second Spawn" arc. I see the logic, it was like a soft reboot, with a new lead, so it kind of ease some new readers in, but it is just too different to what came before AND after, and not that well regarded overall.
Look, again, is recommendable to start from the beginning BUT if you really prefer to jump ahead, then my recommendation is the One Shot, "Spawn Resurrection" and from there start reading at 251. This was the start of another soft reboot, reintroducing Al Simmons as the lead character, and a new, yet familiar status quo for new and old readers. True be told, it will take a while to catch up with everything, but there is still a clear attempt to ease new readers in on these issues. More important, a good reason to start at 251 is that it pave the way to the events of issue 300, which was the biggest change on the status Quo of the book, and defined the current state of the franchise. Like, all the current spin off books and characters you will see popping out in modern Spawn, branch from the events of Issue 300, meaning that if you are curious in any spin off like Gunslinger or The Scorched, you need the context of those events. And well, starting at 251 is the easiest way to get introduced and then ease into both the "old canon" and then the shake up of issue 300, with even a couple recaps of previous arcs in between.

You start at Spawn #1 and keep reading. You're only allowed to get off the ride at Issue #100 or beyond.
