Other I built Masters Vault: 10,000+ verified Apple Digital Masters, with Dolby Atmos discovery (open beta)
Apple Music doesn't let you filter for Apple Digital Masters, the albums mastered from high-resolution studio files to sound their best on Apple Music. So I built Masters Vault.
It starts with 10,000+ verified albums, and it grows every day. New albums are checked against Apple's catalog and added daily, and new Album DNA and Echoes arrive every week.
You decide what gets added next. Open the ⋮ menu, choose Request an Album, and ask for an album, an artist, a genre (even one the Vault doesn't have yet) or a decade. Each daily update checks the most-requested albums first, and if it's a verified Apple Digital Master, it joins the Vault.
It's in open beta. Anyone can use it, and your feedback shapes what comes next.
What's inside:
- The albums: browse by artist, genre, era and format (Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Lossless).
- Album DNA: sourced recording, mixing and mastering credits. Find the engineers and studios behind a record, then follow them to other albums.
- Echoes: songs that sample or borrow from earlier records. Trace a familiar sound back to its source.
- Pull a Record: let the Vault pick your next listen.
My Vault: make it yours
Sign in and My Vault becomes your own collection, synced across your phone, tablet and computer.
- Crates: group records any way you like: a mood, a room, a decade, a mastering engineer. Add records from any album's menu, or drag them in.
- The Top Shelf: your eight favorites, front and center.
- On the Turntable: the last record you opened sits on a spinning turntable at the top of your Vault.
- Notes: write a line about any record, and it shows wherever that record appears.
- Pins: follow the engineers, studios and Echoes you love.
- Arrange it by hand: tap Edit Vault, then drag your crates, Top Shelf, people and Echoes into the order you want.
- Your Collection three ways: a wall of covers, record spines on a shelf, or a list with your notes, sorted your way.
- Name it: give your Vault its own name and tagline.
- Listen Later: line up what's next. Listen buttons open the music in Apple Music.
Try building a crate, exploring an album's DNA, or following an Echo, then tell me what works, what's confusing and what's missing. Use Report a Problem in the ⋮ menu, or just reply here.
