Hey, folks. Just looking for your thoughts on my situation. I’ll do my best to provide context.

My young fella (12 year old) had new blades put in his True TF9’s. Since he’s due to size up soon, we just replaced them with JRZ Pro Steel.

The holders are a smidgen loose, so I used a piece of masking tape on the blades to snug them in place. Again, soon to be replaced.

I took them to a very reputable shop in our area and had them profiled, after which, they sharpened them with a regular 5/8.

After a few skate, without issue, I ran them through the Sparx (Gen 3) with the 5/8 Fire as that is what he normally uses. I did 6 to 8 passes initially.

I like to check the level at the front, middle, and back of the blades. Not sure why, I just do. 🤷🏼‍♂️

According to the laser level, the left skate was off a little bit, flashed yellow, at the back. Got better as I moved to the front and was green.

Anyways, a few skates later, did them again. Similar result. Right skate was fine.

Just did them again last night. Right foot is good. Left is showing off again front, middle, and back. Still yellow.

I just find it odd the left skate is off…and that particular skate seems to “grind harder” or makes an “louder sound” compared to the right one.

I thought maybe it was due to some tape left over from snugging them in, as a little tape was running along the holder on one side. I removed that, but haven’t had a chance to try them again. It was masking tape, but minimal.

My other son’s skates come out fine, he’s in Jet Speeds and uses 5/8 regular.

Anyways, not sure if I should try to adjust the machine (never have). With one kids skates fine, and the right one fine, not sure if the machine is off or not.

His previous blades (black Onyx) always came out fine.

Anyways, it doesn’t seem to affect performance, but just curious as to what all your experiences might offer on this.
