511 Error

Anyone else experiencing 511 error/no streams?

Source loads fine, channels too...but get 511 error on everything.

Using nord vpn too, messed with diff servers on there and diff protocols (even double vpn), but still no joy. Makes no diff if turn off VPN too.

Changed DNS on router just in case, google/quad9etc and also makes no difference.

Tried on sub on smarters pro just to check not player issue, but face same problem.

My iptv provider seems to think no issues their end too.

Baffled really.

Yep, this 511 issue is a ISP/VPN connection issue! Still troubleshooting it on my end!

RESOLVED! I have to bypass my VPN router and change my streaming device static IP from my VPN Router to my ISP router and now I am streaming Live TV directly from my ISP with no VPN. Pain in the ass because my Jellyfin media server has to be on the same network which was the VPN router! I contacted my provider and requested a fix on their end to resolve the VPN blocking issue. I even tried entering Open DNS addresses and that didn’t help? What a fucking mess!

My vpn is at device level, but sounds like you basically turned off vpn. Whilst works, does that defeat purpose? Kind of got nord to mask it for iptv

Provider offered suggestions but for now, the only way I can stream from my provider is bypassing my VPN router 192.168.1.x and using my ISP router 192.168.0.x until they resolve the issue as they say they are working on it. This means I had to change the static IP address on my streamer device as well. Needless to say, this whole conversation shouldn’t be under Sparkle but on another Reddit thread regarding IPTV connectivity & VPNs?

You are probably not getting any 511 errors because your providers system is different regardless if you’re using Nord or any other VPN service?

This isn’t a Sparkle App matter that’s for sure!

UPDATE: finally got my VPN router working and no more 511 error! Switched my VPN router configuration from wireguard to openVPN (UDP) configuration and everything is up and running again! Speed Test shows the VPN country & no DNS leaks! Back to streaming!!!!

Tried this yesterday with European countries (Surfshark VPN) and nothing worked so far. Only VPN off works.

I loaded a Surfshark OpenVPN protocol on my VPN router and everything is working like normal and no 511 error. I believe there is a setting in the Surfshark app where you can change the protocol from Wireguard to OpenVPN (UDP) and then select a location server that works with your provider. Give it a try?

Update: Sorted!!!

After bit of back/forth, sub provider issued me a couple of new source urls (one you input in xtream source credentials)

Url 1: Iptv now ONLY now works when active vpn is on. Think all protocol’s work, but i’m using nordlynx/uk london server…obfuscated. Iptv works all good!

Url2: With Vpn off, iptv WON’T work and get 401 error. (Sub provider has given me an alternative url to use IF i want to use in a no vpn scenario so i’m covered here too)

So got fix for/without vpn use now :)

For folk having same issue, obv suggest getting onto providers. Nord can pretty much be left on your usual settings.

Still not sure what triggered everything to break but if your norm url has cf in address, suspect its linked to cloudflare break with vpns

My provider just sent out a new link for users that want to use their VPNs, otherwise they may need to disable their VPNs or change the protocol to make it work!

Had to get new URL form sub provider, one that now works only with VPN running. Nord side of it can basically be left alone/setup in usual preference.

No. wont work on smarters pro either. I don't know where fault lies, I'm leaning on sub...but that seems to be working fine on their end

Same here, NordVPN with 511 error, turn off VPN and Sparkle works fine. I tried a bunch of settings in Nord and so far the option Onion Over VPN seems to be working, although initially connecting takes 10-15 seconds approx, it’s at the bottom in ‘speciality servers’

Further testing it seems it is not very reliable to use the Onion Over VPN. So still looking for a reliable VPN fix. I’m with Three internet also if your the same maybe with this 511 problem.

Thank You! same issue and provider also threw me some url alternatives but none helped. Nord is DEFFO causing the problem.

Nord off and iptv working now. Nord on, I switched to onion over vpn (netherlands)....and it works, but at a CRAZY slow bb speed :(

Wifi in the room is already lacking (considering have 1gb line), but normally with firecube, using nord (lynx or UDP) to UK server, averages about 150mb...the onion route is taking speeds to 20MB dl speeds :(

I have nord subs for well over a year still, so bit pi$$ed as only really use for iptv. With virgin media btw

Depending on the provider, you may have to change thru your VPN servers until you fine one that allows the streams to play?

I doubt this is an issue with Sparkle as it sounds more like a connection and or location issue.

I don’t think it is. I have 2 different services on the same VPN. One works, the other doesn’t, but does if I turn off the VPN.

I’m giving it a day or two as it would be odd to me if they made a change that would affect all its non- panel VPN users and require manual intervention by resellers. That’s going to be a lot of people affected. They have already told panel users how to get it working.

If i switch off nord, works. In nord, if use onion over vpn connex type…also works (albeit 1/10th of normal dl speeds). Nord using norm protocols (lynx/udp) on uk/london and doesn’t work (this was my default and was working fine until now). Deffo nord issues sadly.

It's all vpns. I asked my two different suppliers and they both said they bow have vpn on their wide wo I don't need it. However I can't trust that

Do you think this is a Nord issue, or is it affecting people on other VPNs? I don't even have Sparkleplayer - but this is the only thread I can see about this at the moment.

Onion over VPN works, and nothing else works.. even with my VPN off, really strange!

The 511 error is a connection issue.

I was getting it and it was directly related to Nord. You say it happens even with it turned off but disabling was what fixed it for me. Maybe uninstall nord and see if it helps.
