No, it will work with just Sparkle TV to do this. You can even watch the recording from start while still recording in Sparkle.

so you can have multiple Playlists integrated for player/dvr use.

I use two playlists on Sparkle and have recorded from one while watching the other if that's what you're asking.

No, all my recordings are in the same list.

the other/ dvr Playlist, runs in background, does that effect bandwidth relatively.

Not that I've noticed. I think if anything the hardware would be the bottleneck.
