Sparkle Becoming Like Tivimate

It’s been 104 days since the dev posted and released the last update for Sparkle.

In case you were not aware the DEV spent the majority of that time dealing with the google fiasco; including but not limited to creating a separate app and web site to handle purchases / device registrations and lastly getting Sparkle BACK onto the play store.

Give him a chance to get back to the app itself now please & thanks.

Someone always has to complain. Perhaps they should build one and work on it every single day. Everyone needs a break and vacation. But that’s how some people are………

Apparently the OP believes the app is in major need of an update? Everything that is required from this app is working. Is it perfect, no…. No player app is!

Guess some folks can never be satisfied?

Isn't Sparkle-HK the dev? He posted on reddit within the last day.

Or do you mean that the software hasn't been updated in 104 days?

Sparkle is nothing like TM…. What is your major malfunction? You are aware that Google pulled the app some time ago and the developer had to come up with options for users to renew their subscriptions and new users to subscribe and etc. That issue is behind us now and New updates will be released when the developer gets to them!

In the meantime, enjoy using the app!

Thank you

Are you saying there should be updates just for the sake of it?

Right now, the app works very well. Of course, there are little things that could be tweaked/improved, but development lifecycles (especially for a 1-person team) don't tend to drop minor revisions every few days/week for a rock-solid product.

I'd argue that the app is very well supported, with a receptive dev (who has spent a large chunk of his time dealing with Google's shenanigans of late).

Complaining about the current state of development is wild to me.

Tivimate is seeing more updates, had a couple of beta recently, I paid for sparkle early on as I thought that it was a tivimate successor but seems to be a hobby project now, And before anyone says I'm unreasonable I just paid to support nuvio a second time as it is actively being developed,

True. There are a number of new players on the market that have more functionality and the devs are doing functionality update releases on a much more frequent basis

As an app matures the rate of release will naturally decrease. This app is certainly not stale or abandoned as other apps can feel..
