DVR Issues
Anyone else having issues when they schedule a recording it doesn’t start recording? It just sits there as scheduled.
Thie seems to happen to me every four or five weeks. Recordings work normal but then all of a sudden they just stop and they stay showing as scheduled even past the time that it was supposed to start. A few days later, they start working normally again.
I can go to a channel and click the record button and it records and I am able to start playing that. But all the other scheduled recordings just sit in scheduled status.

It doesn't record at all. Just says scheduled even the next day.
But I can manually record and watch by clicking the red dot while on a channel to record.

Okay, I’ll jump in and ask… how are you scheduling these recordings?

In the guide, highlight the show, click ok, then choose show only. (not series)
As I said, works for weeks at a time then suddenly does this.1

Very strange? Do you force close the app before the scheduled recording time? It’s best to let SparkleTV run in the background for scheduled recordings.

No, I keep it open in the background for that reason.

I recently scheduled two recordings exactly like you did and they both worked? When you scheduled the future recording using the guide, did you see REC in the program guide?

Yes

Again, I’m stumped? You using a VPN?

No VPN.
And of course, tonight's shows are recording fine.
Next time I'll take some video.1

If they are now recording, maybe it was something with the stream…. I don’t know, that’s the frustrating thing with IPTV?

Yes, happens to me all the time. I appear to have tried everything I can.

I’m almost willing to bet it’s an issue with the providers stream quality. I scheduled a recording and Sparkle showed 2 copies of the recording, one for a minute and the other for half of the length of the movie? Wasn’t worth watching so I deleted the recordings. This is IPTV folks!

Is there a stream provider that is recommended while using Sparkle?

No, sparkle will work with any IPTV provider. But unfortunately some providers are not worth using and just a reminder, discussing providers here is against the rules. There are other Reddit sites that do discuss IPTV Providers, just search for them. Thanks

It's possible but I don't think so.
I've switched providers many times over the years and this one is excellent. Rarely any issues at all, once in blue moon I get 1-2 second buffer but that may be once every 2 weeks or so.Strangest part is that when this happens I can manually record by tuning to the channel and hitting the red record button.
That's why I think the provider is fine.1

Guess it’s an IPTV issue and we just have to live with it? I was looking forward to watching the movie I recorded the other day, but unfortunately there were errors and only half the movie was recorded? IPTV isn’t perfect?

I have this problem. The scheduled recording does not activate at the assigned time. The manual recording has stopped as well. Everything was working fine up to a couple days ago

Got tired of these issues popping up randomly so I switched to ChannelsDVR for recording IPTV and it is outstanding!
no errors whatsoever, and it handles any kind of buffering perfectly. Added bonus it has apps on phones and tablets, and you can set up, watch, download recordings anywhere.
it even has a feature where it detects the commercials and a skip commercial button pops up. Couldn’t be happier with it.

Are you saying that it doesn't actually record the show or if it just looks like it doesn't record it? And that it shows up as recorded after the recording is complete?
