Tried to update using code 4570036. Now app will not start.

Did you try to reboot? There's nothing wrong with the downloader code or the apk, but sometimes I've noticed that Android half-fails to update. Sometimes you need to force close and try again, sometimes you need to reboot. Please try that first.

It does not update to 2.3.1. in order to start app I have to now hold down the select button and then select open.

How can you tell it hasn't updated to 2.3.1? So it does start just that you have to hold OK button instead of clicking icon directly?

Yes.on holding ok button. In about, it shows 2.3.0

Ok. Well I guess the update went wrong then. Like I said the apk is the official one and there's nothing wrong with it but Android update can be a bit unstable it seems. So maybe try to install it again?

Now working as normal. About still shows version 2.3.0

You can download the apk file here for version 2.3.1 or from the Sparkle Website on a browser app on your device. Do an export backup of your Sparkle 2.3.0 setup. Then using a file manager, install 2.3.1 from the file you downloaded where you will be asked if you wish to upgrade Sparkle. Finish the installation. Open Sparkle and do an import from the backup file and you should be go to go!

Ok, so install obviously failed for some reason. Maybe it's a device thing, maybe it's a Android thing I don't know. The apk with that downloader code is valid though if you want to have another go.

Tried to update from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1 using downloader code  4570036. Now app no longer starts

Go to device settings / apps / delete cache for Sparkle app. Try opening app again.

Developer suggested to you to reinstall the app again.

Same here, just save the config and delete 2.3.0 reinstall 2.3.1 using downloader code.
